MAD Museum Grand Opening at 10 Tanglin Road
In only five years, Singapore's very first private museum has become a name often associated with the most refreshing line up of events and exhibitions that celebrate the best of art, design and culture. The award-winning Museum of Art & Design is centered greatly on making art accessible to the masses, educating, exciting and extending the word of art and collectible design to people from of walks of life. It has strongly supported emerging Asian artists, promoting their unique styles as they gain international recognition from critics, art lovers as well as academics.
The Museum continues to be a nurturing space where ideas and new art concepts are generated; an environment that is conducive to endless creativity and change. Now, with a newer, much bigger and more exciting venue, there will be more opportunities for the local art and design scene to flourish.
In addition, with a cigar and whisky bar as well as family-friendly cafe, the Museum hopes to enhance the visitor's experience by providing not only a larger space that is art-centric but also a dynamic event venue. its garden 'Art of Sculpture' is dedicated to bigger art pieces as well as special outdoor events.
For those looking to host their events here, its modular space of 19,000 sq. ft. means flexibility and ease in customizing the right amount of space for any occasion. Be it an intimate wedding, a business conference or a big show to launch a product, there will also be a comprehensive suite of services on offer to cater for different needs to make the day special and memorable.
MAD Artist: Mr Jeffrey Ho / Singapore
“Everyone is creative. It is a matter of being able to live it. And by creative, it does not mean everyone has to do something like art or music, but the ability to see and enjoy things as they are – to see the beauty in the ordinary. Even the ugly are beautiful, if we can see beyond our preconceived notions.” - Jeffrey Ho

First Iteration of ARTLENS Gallery: Gallery One (12/12/12 – 6/21/17)
Gallery One was open December 2012 - March 2017 at the Cleveland Museum of Art, and relaunched as ARTLENS Gallery in June 2017. In a groundbreaking exhibition, Gallery One blended art, technology, and interpretation to inspire visitors to explore the museum’s permanent collection. Gallery One consisted of the Collection Wall, three interactives designed for children located in Studio Play, and six interactive displays (lenses). The touch capability of the lenses enabled visitors the opportunity to have interactive viewpoints that would not be possible in a traditional gallery setting, such as a view of the back of a bowl or zoom in on a painting. Gallery One interactives paired seamlessly with ArtLens (now known as ArtLens App).

ClockClock
The ClockClock project was started in 2008 by Per Emanuelsson and Bastian Bischoff at university and since then, Per and Bastian have been working together under the artist name Humans since 1982. Inspired by the question “How to shape time”, the duo experimented with analog clock hands that would depict a changing, moving typography, and showed a mock-up to an electrical engineer at Ericsson, Australian David Cox. Cox helped the duo develop a prototype in just one month, in Emanuelsson’s tiny dorm basement. It was a major turning point. A curator of auction house Phillips de Pury snapped it up, took it to Saatchi Gallery London, and sold one to a Russian oligarch. Selling on the art market in a highly limited edition, they started to earn real money from their original artwork The Clock Clock and employed extra people in the studio to help with production. With The Clock Clock’s eased successor model, the ClockClock 24, Humans since 1982 accepted their friend’s request to make the unique concept available to a wider audience.
ClockClock 24 combines a unique concept, technical precision, and expert craftsmanship, resulting in the highest quality form. Each piece is produced and carefully assembled in Humans since 1982’s workshop in Stockholm, Sweden.
Humans since 1982
The studio Humans since 1982 is founded by Per Emanuelsson (b. 1982, Sweden) and Bastian Bischoff (b. 1982, Germany). Since meeting as postgraduate students at HDK Göteborg in 2008, the duo have pushed boundaries across art and design to produce works that defy easy categorisation. Through experiential installations and provocative object-making, Humans since 1982 explore themes of privacy, religious symbolism, preservation, and time. Their work manages to be logical with a healthy dose of escapism.

& VOILÀ!
There is a wish to return to the simple, honest and unassuming, yet at the same time, there is a continuing presence of maximalism and a desire to stand out and be seen. But does it have to be a straight choice between falling into anonymity and crying out for applause? When it comes to color, it is the mixing of the 2 that is often the most interesting and psychologically provides the most balance. First, the soothing, calming nature of Pastels – dreamy, milky and soft – a persuasive yet gentle tones that conveys compassion and a sense of composure. Like a serene sunset, flushed cheek or budding flower, they reminds us to reflect on our surroundings during the busy but lighthearted time. On the other hand acid bright colors colliding with muddier colors emanate friendlier qualities, evoking warmth and accessibility. It is an all-encompassing, tempered companion in the playful color family. Anypass you follow keep in mind that color is a nonverbal language we all know how to speak.
