MVV München (English)
2.64 million people live in Munich and the surrounding region. Whether they need to get to work or school, attend sporting activities, go shopping or simply make the most of their leisure time, bus and train services provide these people with an environmentally-friendly way of reaching their destination quickly. Public transport reduces CO2 emissions and fine dust pollution, as well as minimising levels of noise.
A well-connected network of different transport options extends throughout the city and out into the country: underground trains, trams, buses and urban rail trains. The urban rail trains run a long way out into the surrounding area. As a transport association, we work together with our partners to ensure that these different modes of transport are perfectly interlinked. We have ONE network, ONE timetable and ONE tariff.
Our TASK is to get people from one place to another in a sustainable manner. Our AIM is to increase our number of passengers. We have an important role to play here, which is why we advertise with the slogan Climate protection is our drive.
The Munich Transport and Tariff Association came into being in 1972 as a response to the city being awarded the 20th Summer Olympic Games. Munich needed a modern transport system -- and fast! The first important underground line led to the Olympiazentrum station. Since then, the network has continued to grow all the time.
Around 2 million people now use the MVV's buses and trains EVERY DAY. Passenger satisfaction is reaching ever higher levels -- as is proved by regular customer surveys. In 2010 we also came out on top for GERMANY AS A WHOLE. Nowhere is public transport used so intensively as in the Munich region. Germany's largest automotive club ADAC has even given the MVV top billing when compared to other EUROPEAN local transport systems -- awarding it the accolade VERY GOOD.
The city of Munich, the Free State of Bavaria and eight surrounding administrative districts are partners in the association. Around 50 transport companies deal directly with passengers. Chief amongst these are the Münchner Verkehrsgesellschaft (the Munich Transport Company or MVG) and the S-Bahn München (Munich Urban Rail).
The MVV GmbH coordinates the entire system. We plan regional bus services, come up with transport concepts that extend beyond the city limits, provide communities and companies with advice, carry out marketing campaigns and distribute all revenue to the various transport companies.
Our research into transport issues provides a basis on which various fundamental decisions can be made in relation to matters ranging from transport planning to investment. One of our most important jobs is the setting of fares. We develop models and put forward proposals of attractive offers for a wide variety of different market segments.
With 14 million hits per month, our electronic journey planner is Germany's number one timetable information system. The journey planner has also been available for mobile phones for quite some time now, so passengers can always find the information they need quickly, even when they're on the move.
Since the coming years will see more and more people combining personal and public transport, we are supporting efforts to provide more parking spaces for cars and bicycles at train stations. This will enable car drivers and bike riders to use public transport more easily.
Over the years we and our partners have risen to meet many challenges -- including the Oktoberfest, a huge annual event that welcomes six million visitors over the course of two weeks. The lion's share of the work for this particular event is carried out by the two most important transport companies in the association: the Münchner Verkehrsgesellschaft MVG and the S-Bahn München.
Munich and its surrounding area will continue to grow. Munich is really taking shape as a European metropolitan region.
Here -- in Munich and the region as a whole -- buses and trains have become part of daily life for many people. This is down to the closely interlinked MVV network, the frequency of the services on offer, the high quality of the vehicles and the professional staff at every company involved in the network.
The future is on our side. Get on board!
Public Transport in Munich - your munich guide
I recommend you to use the public transport in Munich. There are two good reasons for this: On the one hand, Munich is anything but car-friendly - if you are not in traffic, you are probably on one of the most unsuccessful search for a parking space. On the other hand, public transport is perfectly developed. So my tip: leave your car and use the public ones.
But how does it work? Even locals are occasionally desperate when they have to fight their way through the tariff jungle.
In Munich you can either take a bus, tram, subway, suburban train or combine them. I'll show you how to do that in this video:

#Germany #MunichAirport #Vlog
This video is about travelling by Airport metro (S-bahn) from Munich International Airport to Munich City. This journey by S-bahn usually which takes around 35 minutes to reach Munich Hbf (Munich Main Station) from Munich Internation Airport.
The one way ticket price from Munich International Airport (München Flughafen) to the Munich main city costs around 11€.
If you need to travel beyond Munich main city in the Bavarian region then, I would suggest you to buy the Bayern Ticket. The Bayern Ticket is valid in whole Bavarian state and is valid for unlimited travel for the same day.

How to use Munich's U Bahn & S Bahn (Metro)
Munich's transit system is a sprawling network of regional trains , subway, tram and bus lines that reach every corner of a city . Most visitors will find the U bahn and S bahn to be the most useful.
The U bahn travels mostly underground, with stations located near Munich’s most popular attractions, with stations at or near such attractions as the Schwabing district, the major parks, the BMW Museum, the Allianz Arena, and the Oktoberfest grounds.
Its 8 lines travel to 96 stations in and around the city center.
The S bahn travels mostly above ground, and connects Munich’s two main train stations, the international airport, and outlying suburbs with the city center. There are 8 lines with 150 stations.
In Munich the U & S Bahn trains travel through 16 zones. The price of a single trip depends on how many zones you pass through. At best this is where things get cumbersome and at worst get confusing. The majority of sights for visitors are within the first four zones. #DISTANTLANDS #TRAVELTIPS #TRAVEL

Munich Trams and Marienplatz Scenes
The tram network in Munich is a great way to get out and see the city. I was staying right next to Hauptbahnhof Station in Downtown Munich and loved seeing the trams outside my hotel window! The tramline 21 used these wonderful older tram cars! I also have scenes from Marienplatz including the Rathaus-Glockenspiel, the famous clock tower with elaborate shows during the day!

Munich’s second core S-Bahn route
The Munich S-Bahn system is one of Germany’s largest suburban rail networks. With 148 stations, 442 kilometres of tracks and approximately 1,000 train journeys a day, the network extends far into the city's hinterland, connecting the Bavarian capital with the entire region. Originally designed to carry some 250,000 passengers every working day, far more than 800,000 people make use of Munich's S-Bahn today.
During peak travel times, every two minutes an S-Bahn train travels through the tunnel in one direction.
The metro area of Munich is a fast growing region in Germany. The continuous development of the public transport system is therefore an urgent need. To upgrade the S-Bahn system and to reduce the traffic burden on the existing core line, two new tracks will be built parallel to it between the stations of Laim in the west of the city and Leuchtenbergring in the east, covering a total of about 10 kilometres. The core of the new east-west connection is a 7-kilometre tunnel linking Munich's main station Hauptbahnhof with the eastern hub Ostbahnhof.
The new core route will serve just three stations, thereby making journey times significantly shorter. Its path is crossed by several U-Bahn lines, so these stations will be located about 40 metres underground.

Trams of Munich, Germany
The Munich tramway is the tramway network for the city of Munich in Germany. Today it is operated by the municipally owned Münchner Verkehrsgesellschaft (the Munich Transport Company, or MVG) and is known officially and colloquially as the Tram. Previous operators have included Société Anonyme des Tramways de Munich, the Münchner Trambahn-Aktiengesellschaft, the Städtische Straßenbahnen and the Straßenbahn München.
The tram network interconnects with the MVG's bus network, the Munich U-Bahn and the Munich S-Bahn, all of which use a common tariff as part of the Münchner Verkehrs- und Tarifverbund (Munich Transport and Tariff Association, or MVV) transit area.
The daytime tram network comprises eleven lines and is 75 kilometres (47 mi) long with 155 stops. There is also a night tram service with four routes. The network is operated by 95 trams and transported 98 million people in 2010

MUNICH Airport to City Center by Train - Fast S-BANH 2019
With a 1-night layover in Munich, we stayed in Central Munich area for the night. Taking the S-Bahn train from the MUC Airport to downtown area was fairly quick & easy...most of the transit time seemed like it was at the airport itself (customs, shuttles, etc.)
????Help get me to 1K SUBSCRIBERS????➡️
No advanced tickets necessary, just follow the Green S-Bahn signs to the station. You can take either the S-1 or S-8 line from the airport, nearly same train riding time of ~31 minutes.
