LA JOVEN APOYA A TODAS LAS CHICAS QUE ESTÁN FUERA DE LOS ESTÁNDARES DE BELLEZA
Con este acto Almendral, ha querido reivindicar que la belleza no está reñida con el sobrepeso.
La localidad pacense de Almendral ha elegido como reina de las fiestas a ''Cande'', una chica que está fuera de los estándares de belleza actuales por su sobrepeso. La importancia de ello es que no hay que estar delgada para ser bella.
Ella misma compartió unas palabras en las que decía: “(…) Hoy me subo aquí en representación de aquellas personas que, por unas cosas u otras, se sienten insultadas o molestas por su físico”.

Es de destacar que países latinoamericanos ya celebran certámenes de belleza “Miss gordita”, en donde se reivindica la imagen de la mujer con curvas.
