Mablethorpe is a small seaside town in the East Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, England. Mablethorpe as a town has existed for many centuries, although part of it was lost to the sea in the 1540s. For example, records of the Fitzwilliam family of Mablethorpe Hall date back to the 14th century. In the 19th century, it was also a centre for ship breaking during the winter. Mablethorpe Hall is to the west of the town along Alford Road. It is near the parish church of St Mary
Along with many small seaside villages and some inland towns and villages, Mablethorpe lost its railway station in 1970 because of the Beeching Axe. The old railway station is today the site of the town's sports centre. Stagecoach Interconnect 9 runs through the town, the half way point between Skegness & Louth. Generally an hourly service with summer Sunday services only operating between Skegness & Mablethorpe. Grayscroft Coaches operates numerous services from their base on Victoria Road in the town, including service 1 to Louth via Manby. Brylaine operates service 96/96A connecting Mablethorpe with Alford & Spilsby generally every 2 hours.
Mablethorpe is located within the East Lindsey council district of England. Mablethorpe is administered with Sutton-on-Sea and Trusthorpe as the civil parish of Mablethorpe and Sutton. The former parish of Mablethorpe covers a rectangular area inland along the A1104 Alford Road towards Maltby le Marsh as far as the boundary between the LN12 and LN13 postcode at Grange Leisure Park
One of Mablethorpe's long-standing traditions, its sand train, operates to take visitors to and from the northerly point of the beach. Mablethorpe's cinema, the Loewen, lies on Quebec Road. The cinema was previously known as the Bijou. The Dunes leisure complex lies on Mablethorpe's seafront. In 2008, the old Dunes Theatre became Sharky's Bar following a refit, however, in 2012 the complex was returned to its original state and branding. Mablethorpe has long been known for its traditional seaside amusement arcades.

Mablethorpe Beach is appreciated locally as a terrific specimen offering really soft golden sands ideal for castling, backed by grassy dunes equally ideal for exploring or hide and seek.
There are gently sloping and generally calm waters good for swimming too with summer lifeguard patrols and its own lifeboat station.Plus it's a regular Seaside Award winner so you know the area will be pleasingly clean.
Depending on how you view it, it's generally worth checking either way on the Mablethorpe Motorcycle Sand Racing Club website to see if there's an event coming up. Those who love a bit of rev will enjoy being able to watch part of their event, but of course those who aren't so keen will probably want to avoid it at such times, so be sure to check ahead.
Immediate vicinity amenities seem to include Crazy Golf on the North Promenade, where you can also find a fair few rides at the Dunes Central Amusement Park. So all in all whether you want peaceful day of castling and paddling or a full throttle let's do everything twice kind of day, there's plenty to choose from here and enough space between the features that you won't feel crowded if you're just after the beach itself.
Mablethorpe Camping and Caravanning Club Site
Easy access to the long, sandy beaches of Lincolnshire's seaside coast from this campsite.
The seaside is the big draw for our family-friendly Mablethorpe Club campsite. Its location is just a mile from the lovely sandy beach at Mablethorpe.
This golden expanse of sand is perfect for bucket and spade fun, while the seafront offers everything you would expect from a British seaside resort – amusement arcades, fairground, donkey rides and cafes. Queens Park next to the beach offers a variety of activities and has a boating lake, paddling pool, miniature railway, tennis courts and putting green. Head further down the coast for Skegness and more traditional seaside fun.
For those visiting Mablethorpe campsite, it’s not just about the beach. Inland the Fens and Lincolnshire Wolds are both lovely walking and cycling areas. The towns of Louth, Spilsby, Market Rasen and Alford are all worth visiting, the latter is famous for its craft market held every Tuesday and Friday through the summer.

A Time and Tide Bell for Mablethorpe
Britain’s sixth Time and Tide Bell comes
to Lincolnshire’s coast north of
Mablethorpe. It’s community art by
sculptor Marcus Vergette.
Time and Tide Bells stand near the high
tide mark at sites round the coast. The
waves at high tide drive the clapper to
strike the bell. Played by the movement
of the water, the bell creates a varying,
gentle, musical pattern, changing as the
tide rises.
