EXPLORING MACAU (MACAO): SENADO SQUARE decorated for CHRISTMAS (CHINA)
SUBSCRIBE: - Let's walk around this magnificent and very central square and let's admire its beauty and architecture as it is decorated for the Christmas holidays. Macau is an autonomous region on the south coast of China, across the Pearl River Delta from Hong Kong. A Portuguese territory until 1999, it reflects a mix of cultural influences. Its giant casinos and malls on the Cotai Strip, which joins the islands of Taipa and Coloane, have earned it the nickname, Las Vegas of Asia. One of its more striking landmarks is the tall Macau Tower, with sweeping city views.

Studio City Hotel has a new edition to its hotel and its called Flip Out. It is an indoor trampoline centre, perfect for kids to release their endless energy.
'Studio City is a hotel and casino resort in Cotai, Macau, China. It is Asia's first leisure resort to integrate television and film production facilities, retail, gaming and hotels. It is jointly developed by U.S. investment firms Silver Point Capital LP and Oaktree Capital Management LLC and a Hong Kong entertainment company, eSun Holdings Ltd. In June 2011, Melco Crown Entertainment took over a 60% share of the property developer. Studio City Macau was officially opened on 27 October 2015.[2][3]
Design and attractions
Studio City Macau features an Art Deco design inspired by two asteroids shooting through a Gotham City building.[10] The resort was designed by Goddard Group, a Los Angeles-based entertainment design firm also responsible for the design of Cotai’s Galaxy Macau Resort.[11][12][13]
Las Vegas, Nevada based Architecture firm Friedmutter Group was the Exterior Podium and Porte Cochere Design Architect and Interior Architect and Interior Designer for the Casino including Mass Gaming, Signature Gaming and Signature Club, Celebrity Tower Grand Lobby, Matinee Lobby and Lounge, Star Tower Grand Lobby and Premier Bar, Hong Pao Tea Pavilion, Bi Ying Restaurant, Herbal Treasures Restaurant and Spice Road Pan Asian Dining Restaurant.
The resort’s two hotel towers (The Star Tower and the Celebrity Tower) are connected by the Golden Reel, the world’s first figure-8 ferris wheel. Boarding at the hotel’s 23rd floor, the wheel features 17 cabins holding up to 10 passengers each. The design was developed by the Goddard Group, and the hardware was manufactured by Liechtenstein's Intamin Amusement Rides.[14][15] The 15-minute ride will take guests to a height of 130 meters.[16]
Another attraction is Batman Dark Flight, a flying theater attraction.[13][17]
Studio City is home to a food court called Cosmos Food Station, on which guest can look out upon space through giant portal windows.[18]
The resort also features a 40,000 square foot children’s playground called the Warner Brothers Fun Zone[19].'

2019 IES Illumination Award: MGM COTAI, Macau
ILLUMINATION AWARD FOR OUTDOOR LIGHTING DESIGN
Award of Excellence
MGM COTAI, Macau
Designers: Kelly Stechschulte, Adam Winter, Tyler Ezell, Joseph Cazeno, Kelly O'Connor, Kevin Kelly, Pam Rodriguez, Bruce Powell, Sheila Kerr – Illuminating Concepts
The hotel's elegant exterior façade consists of eight stacked, cantilevering jewel boxes in an abstract sculptural form based on Chinese imagery. The design intent was to make the façade's silver, gold and copper powder-coated aluminum finishes stand out among the other highly-lit structures nearby. The challenge was to illuminate the façade's large surface area, with no setback to light from. The solution was to conceal customized lighting fixtures within the façade's decorative curtain wall mullions. Over 48,000 individual fixtures are integrated into the horizontal window mullions, lighting upward to highlight façade patterns. The lighting design team and manufacturer created two new fixture families: The first was a modification of an existing line voltage graze product to add DMX/RDM control and reduce power draw to meet energy restrictions, with 12 different optical distributions across three fixture lengths. The second was a new, high-output fixture with high-power LED emitters and narrow optics, enabling throw distances exceeding 30 ft from a 2-in. wide fixture. Each customized fixture features a unique address, allowing the system to monitor fixture health and flag fixtures for easy replacement. Through a combination of power supply tuning and discrete fixture control, the overall power load for the façade lighting was reduced more than 50%. The installation is the first private sector project to achieve China Green Building (Macau) Design Label Certification.

Macau' $1.1Billion Morpheus Hotel City Of Dream:World's First Highrise Exoskeleton Building In China
Macau Insane $1.1Billion Morpheus Hotel Casino: World's First Highrise Exoskeleton Building In China
Morpheus, a new luxury mega hotel for macau’s city of dreams resort, has opened its doors to guests in June 2018. It 's designed by zaha hadid architects.
The building unique shape is made by the fluid forms found within china’s rich jade carving traditions. conceived as a vertical extrusion of its rectangular footprint, a series of voids is carved through the building’s center. this creates what the architects describe as an ‘urban window’, a void designed to connect the hotel’s interior communal spaces with the city.
located in cotai, macau, the striking building forms part of city of dreams, a resort that includes a casino, two theaters, a shopping district, 20 restaurants, and four hotels. the morpheus hotel is connected to the resort via a three-storey podium, with its upper levels containing 770 guest rooms as well as various suites and sky villas. civic spaces are also included, with meeting and event facilities, gaming rooms, and restaurants joining the spa and rooftop pool.
Semi-autonomous Macau is the only place in China where gambling is legal, bringing in revenue that easily dwarves Las Vegas.
The resort's opening comes as the enclave is undergoing something of a renaissance, with gaming revenues bouncing back after being hard hit by a corruption crackdown launched by China's President Xi Jinping in 2012.
Extravagant duplex villas with their own in-room gym and massage quarters are located on the top floors of Morpheus for VIPs, along with a gaming area exclusively for these residents.
There is also a rooftop pool, while two restaurants by Alain Ducasse, one of the chefs awarded the most Michelin stars, are part of efforts to court luxury-seeking crowds.
See China's incredible architecture at its best.

Macau - Macau to be handed over to China in 1999
T/I: 10:15:30
Down the coast from Hong Kong the residents of the Portuguese
colony of Macau will be anxiously watching the handover of the
enclave to China at the end of this month - knowing that their
turn comes in 1999.
The Portuguese having twice offered to hand over Macau since the
1960's. Beijing, struggling with poverty and unrest, rejected
the offer both times.
Eventually a joint Sino-Portuguese Declaration was signed in
April 1987, setting 1999 as the handover date.
