Sentencian a responsables de daños en el Intihuatana de Machu Picchu, Cusco
La Tercera Sala Penal sentenció entre tres y cuatro años de pena privativa de la libertad suspendida a los responsables del atentado contra el Intihuatana (o reloj solar incaico), ocurrido en septiembre del año 2000; cuando el brazo de metal de una grúa de filmación de la empresa JWT que grababa un comercial televisivo le cayera encima al Reloj Solar en Machu Picchu. Fueron sentenciados a cuatro años de pena privativa de la libertad suspendida la ejecutiva de la empresa, Cecilia Castillo Pretell y el trabajador de la firma, Eddy Óscar Romero Pasco. Por su parte, el ex director del INC Cusco, Gustavo Manrique Villalobos, recibió una condena de cuatro años de pena privativa de la libertad suspendida.

The seaside capital of Lima is a thoroughly cosmopolitan city and considered one of the world’s top culinary destinations. Its architecture includes grandeurs of colonial times, with almost five centuries of Spanish heritage. But you don’t have to travel far to find towns where the atmosphere is decidedly pre-colonial: thriving agrarian communities with traditional markets rich in the textiles, artistry and the flavours of indigenous Peru. Peru is incredibly biodiverse and in our two-week exploration we’ll visit a marine reserve on a peninsula in the Pacific, the arid plains along the coast, the fertile highlands inland, the soring peaks of the Andes running parallel to the coast, the cloud forest, and (optionally) the tropical Amazon Basin rainforest. Along the way you’ll discover many of the treasures Peru is famous for: the mysterious Nazca lines, Lake Titicaca which borders Bolivia and is the world’s highest navigable lake, and of course the magical 15th century Inca citadel of Machu Picchu. Peru is an adventure for the mind and senses, and we’ll experience it while enjoying the pampered treatment of a small tour group led by an expert guide.

Adventure in PERU: Machu Picchu in a Day
At the end of summer 2014, my friends and I took a trip to Peru. After multiple planes, busses and hikes, we finally arrived at Aguas Calientes, the base camp for Machu Picchu. Waking up at 4:30 am we began the hike up to the ancient Incan city, ready to witness the sunrise at the summit. Climbing 1500 feet of stairs we were exhausted and sweaty when we reached the top, especially Ryan. Although we lost our camera with most of our pictures and videos, I put together this video with what little footage we had. Make sure you watch it in HD! Enjoy!
