Wild Wood Bison in Alberta
My remote Northern Alberta Trophy Bear camp is bordered by the North West Territories, the Peace River, and Wood Buffalo National Park. Not only is this area big bear paradise, it also has wild herds of Buffalo that we can legally hunt. Here is a short video of a small herd of Buffalo, about 100yds away, that my guide Owen filmed while on a bait run this past spring 2014.

Drum Dance Celebrating the Ratification of Deline Final Self-government Agreement
On March 4, 2015, the Government of the Northwest Territories ratified the Deline Self-government Agreement (Third reading of Bill 46, the Deline Self-government Act). This agreement will see the creation of the first community-based (public) self-government in Canada.... an historic day! This celebration took place in the Great Hall of the GNWT Legislature. A community celebration (in Deline) is expected to take place on March 16....I plan to be there! Wouldn't miss it for the world! I had the honour and privilege to work on the Deline self-government negotiation table (on behalf of the GNWT), for a number of years. This has been the highlight of my career! What an exceptional community! (See my blog post re. Deline (September 2016) here: For more information on Deline and the Self-government agreement, visit and (See my other related videos from Deline's ratification celebration in March 2014).
