Pure Michigan Places to Visit Part 1 I Michigan Travel Vlog I
This is a state whose name itself is derived from Mishigamaa and that means large lake. It is surrounded by the great lakes. Pure Michigan is mostly known for its clear beaches, sandy dunes, lighthouses, andzzaza lakes. it doesn't matter where you are in the state you will never be more than 6 miles away from a lake.
Whenever People hear about Michigan, they talk about heavy snowfall and chilly winters. But this state has its own beauty. The same place that gets covered in inches of snow, looks amazing in the summer. And this vlog is about the beauty of this state in summer.
Ludington: a small town that is always busy in summer and is known for its iconic light houses. ludington state park is one of the best state parks in Michigan. a short 2 mile hike towards the Big Sable Point lighthouse takes you through the sand dunes. once you climb 130 steps to the top of the tower you could see spectacular view. one side covered in sand and the other side was calm with a pristine beach and beautiful blue lake michigan. The sounds of the wave and pleasant breeze would relieve anyone for the day to day stress of life.
North Breakwater Lighthouse located in Stearns Park downtown. This is the ideal place to see the best sunset in ludington. The lighthouse is located on the north breakwater pier at the end of Main Street. just look around ! you are not the only one here.
Saugatuck is another gem to explore. get a close look at nature from rentable kayaks, stand up paddleboards and even hydrobikes from area shops. for active visitors we highly recommend climbing 302 steps to the summit of mount baldhead for great views of Saugatuck, Douglas and Lake michigan. USA Today awarded Saugatuck as the best coastal town. Oval beach won one of the top 25 beaches in the world by Conde Nast. There are also other beaches such as Douglas beach and serene laketown beach.
Have you been to frederick meijer sculpture garden in grand rapids? if not we recommend visiting. It's quite expenasive as they charge $15 for entry but has great scluptures and peaceful gardens. great place to spend time with family and statues.
This is wgere I flew my drone. I am still learning. Cadillac is a great city for hunting and fishing. We went through the campgrounds and it was packed over Labor Day weekend. we gazed out onto the beaches of lake cadillac and lake mitchell.
Traverse city is a City known for its culinary scene, wine and lakes. We went in July during the busiest time of the year: the cherry festival .
We walked on the alligator hill trail, which lead us towards the sleeping bear dunes through beech maple forest. We got a glimpse of lake Michigan. Our dog, Snoop did a great job finding his way and leading us toward the dunes. We were unfortunate as it was foggy during that time of the day, but this is how it looks on a perfect day.
Then there was the Old mission light house, standing between the North pole and the equator. With a nice beach area, we spent time looking at the pleasing waves. Don’t forget to peek into the Hessler log cabin.
we walked on the main street called Front street in traverse city's downtown. There you will find Old-fashioned restaurants, bookstores, a theater, hobby shops, art stores and cherry republic …this list just goes on and on. We absolutely loved the ambiance and feel of an open minded, diverse, and artsy community. This is a dog friendly neighborhood with water bowls at every entrance. Snoop also made some new friends.
We stopped at charlevoix, a small town with French influence. It;s known for its mushroom houses. This is a fascinating and unique sight to see. you can even rent them but just don't knock on the door of any mushroom houses cause people do actually live there. We saw many kids playing in the water, a tranquil lake, boats and ships, and a mighty bridge.
We then continued our trip to Upper Michigan, but we chose a different route which was through the tunnel of trees. You look towards the right, left or up…and find beautiful green leafed tress everywhere (can you imagine traveling through the fall season as the colors of the leaves change?!). Driving through this tunnel which goes on for miles, makes you want to keep driving forever.
