Lyrics Speed bonnie boat like a bird on the wing Onward the sailors cry Carry the lad that's born to be king Over the sea to Skye
Loud the wind howls Loud the waves roar Thunderclaps rend the air Baffled our foes Stand by the shore Follow they will not dare
Speed bonnie boat like a bird on the wing Onward the sailors cry Carry the lad that's born to be king Over the sea to Skye
Many's the lad fought on that day Well the claymore did wield When the night came Silently lain Dead on Culloden field
Speed bonnie boat like a bird on the wing Onward the sailors cry Carry the lad that's born to be king Over the sea to Skye
Though the waves heave Soft will ye sleep Ocean's a royal bed Rocked in the deep Flora will keep Watch by your weary head
Speed bonnie boat like a bird on the wing Onward the sailors cry. Carry the lad that's born to be king Over the sea to Skye
PhotoStory of our visit to Isle of Barra 2011 with music by Runrig
We flew from Glasgow airport in 2011 to Barra in Outer Hebrides. I have matched some songs from Celtic folk rockers, Runrig, along with the photos. Check out the sunsets on this video. They are amazing. West of Barra is just the mighty Atlantic and then America! Amazing deserted sandy beaches miles long. We had 5 good weather days and one stormy day which is also in the film. I heard news my brother had passed away while we were on the island. We were near a chapel when I got the phone call that he had passed away. I have taken some shots inside the chapel. Barra holds a special place in our hearts and hope to revisit soon. Thanks to the band from Skye, Runrig for the music which fits so well with the film. Jed and Maggie
