This clip is a magical moment I captured while filming for a mall in England. It just sums up what Christmas really means to me.

Here's the real story: Mali, aged 3, visited the Cleveland Centre's special event days several times. She came with her mum on Saturday to meet Santa.
Mali is not deaf, she struggles to communicate with speech and language and this is were she learned sign language to help her communicate.
Santa asked Mali’s mum if she could sign, and touched hearts all over the world when he sprung in to action signing to Mali if she wanted a doll for Christmas.
Her reaction is priceless and touched all of us who witnessed it live. I was so pleased I could capture such a special moment and share it with the world.

This program, hopefully, will not only do some good, maybe it will put back on everybody's radar screen that there still is a country, neighbours of ours, a country where we have lots of people from there living here, working in our hospitals and whatever, and they need help, and we shouldn't walk away from them.

I am actually looking forward to going down to Haiti with the CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) team and as far as adapting to everything, it's just a matter... I mean we do this every day here in the city, it's just a matter of translating it back to the people in Haiti, so that they could understand and grasp all the information.

It was painful to see that people in the street were trying to break concrete with their hand, with a piece of rock, because they were not ready for that. This is a wonderful programme that is going to make a change for Haiti. And it's going to make Haiti prepared for eventual disasters.

STORYLINE:
New York City firefighters and other emergency workers are going to Haiti to teach emergency response techniques to residents.
Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced on Tuesday that a 12-member team will spend two weeks in the capital Port-au-Prince.
In addition to firefighters, the group includes officials from the health department and Office of Emergency Management.
Many of the volunteers are of Haitian ancestry or are first generation immigrants.
One of them, Jean Tanis, a New York City firefighter, will help train people in search and rescue techniques.
It's just a matter of we do this every day here in the city, it's just a matter of translating it back to people in Haiti, so that they could understand and grasp all of the information, said Tanis at the news conference announcing the programme.
They will train Haitians on fire safety, first aid, triage, search and rescue, and strategies to address civil unrest.
It's the first time the city will teach its community emergency response programme outside New York.
New York City also sent emergency workers to Haiti in the days after the January earthquake to assist with search and rescue efforts.
The team leaves for Haiti on 7 June.

The Z New York City Hotel faces Manhattan from its location in Queens. This 14 story building with its privileged geographical situation,gives its guests a spectacular viewof the Queensboro Bridge and the famous Manhattan skyline. Designed by Andres Escobar, under the attentive eye of its owner, the hotel possesses a great number of vintage references to travel, like the old steamer trunks and large painting of the City Hall subway station that decorate the reception area. The rooms contain large frescoed silhouettes of Billie Holiday, the Rockettes and New York taxicabs. Sober tones of black, brown and gray are used for the bed heads and bed covers, and the stunning, original lights, created from jam jars, were especially customized for the hotel. The Great Gildersleeve: Jolly Boys Invaded / Marjorie's Teacher / The Baseball Field
Premiering on August 31, 1941, The Great Gildersleeve moved the title character from the McGees' Wistful Vista to Summerfield, where Gildersleeve now oversaw his late brother-in-law's estate and took on the rearing of his orphaned niece and nephew, Marjorie (originally played by Lurene Tuttle and followed by Louise Erickson and Mary Lee Robb) and Leroy Forester (Walter Tetley). The household also included a cook named Birdie. Curiously, while Gildersleeve had occasionally spoken of his (never-present) wife in some Fibber episodes, in his own series the character was a confirmed bachelor.
In a striking forerunner to such later television hits as Bachelor Father and Family Affair, both of which are centered on well-to-do uncles taking in their deceased siblings' children, Gildersleeve was a bachelor raising two children while, at first, administering a girdle manufacturing company (If you want a better corset, of course, it's a Gildersleeve) and then for the bulk of the show's run, serving as Summerfield's water commissioner, between time with the ladies and nights with the boys. The Great Gildersleeve may have been the first broadcast show to be centered on a single parent balancing child-rearing, work, and a social life, done with taste and genuine wit, often at the expense of Gildersleeve's now slightly understated pomposity.
Many of the original episodes were co-written by John Whedon, father of Tom Whedon (who wrote The Golden Girls), and grandfather of Deadwood scripter Zack Whedon and Joss Whedon (creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Firefly and Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog).
The key to the show was Peary, whose booming voice and facility with moans, groans, laughs, shudders and inflection was as close to body language and facial suggestion as a voice could get. Peary was so effective, and Gildersleeve became so familiar a character, that he was referenced and satirized periodically in other comedies and in a few cartoons.

Punjab has a rich tradition of singing Qawwalis, we discovered Ranjhan Ali and his team of qawwals in a small village called Verka outside Amritsar.
He sings compositions by Baba Fareed, Bulleh Shah, Ameer Khusrau and keeps the tradition alive.
Ranjhan sings in Dargahs and outside Gurudwaras and trains his band of young wards.
This production is is a part of Discovering the Peninsula - Punjab presented as Nokia Music Theatre series broadcasted on MTV as a three episode serial created by The Peninsula Studios.

The band Rangley Punjabis of The Peninsula Studios* is hugely popular.
The starting point of this program was a workshop on the music and poetry of Punjab, led by the eminent theatre personality M.K.Raina. This led us to 438 musicians in smaller towns and districts in March 2014. 2600 minutes of music was evaluated and we travelled through Punjab to meet some 50 wonderful musicians of which 21 feature in this album.
Our artists come from Naushera, Verka, Badal and Patiala. We curated the music they wished to present and mentored and recorded them @ The Peninsula Studios*.
We present some of the best music from Majha, Doaba and Malwa in Punjab.
This music is a result of team work led by Avinash Chordia our Head of Studios, Neel Adhikari the music director who worked with and mentored 21 musicians over six months and curated the content in the summer of 2014.
Deepak Samson did the sound recording. Narinder Tawakley led the talent search with Anant Raina. Shankar was the studio technician. Pramit Kasliwal, Rupika Gupta and Himanshu Singh provided logistic support to the project.
These tracks were mixed and mastered by Miti Adhikari for a music album with 10 tracks for Nokia Music Theatre , Discovery of the Peninsula, Punjab and published in the fall of 2014 by the Universal Music Group.
The AV team has brought the album to life through this music video. Salman Usmani created and directed these audio visual renditions as music videos as Director and Director of Photography with Kajri Akhtar on 2nd camera and Azra Sadr as camera assistant, Adil Khan handled post production as Director PP and Jai Dhankar is the editor.
The result is world class recording of ten great songs along with music videos from Punjab, produced by a cast over a 100 people. The authenticity, the musical quality and the international appeal of the music was publicly acknowledged by Max Hole, The Chairman of Universal Music who saw them perform during his visit to India.
Due to this effort these musicians get an opportunity to get known to to newer audiences and find patrons for their talent, this improves their livelihood and they step into a wider world of music lovers.
