About Madonna del Ghisallo from Bellagio
This is probably the only indoor ride in the world which ends inside a church dedicated to cycling. It is by many regarded as a legendary climb and is part of the classic fall race 'Tour of Lombardia' (Il Lombardia). Your cycling pilgrimage starts on a warm summer day at the small harbor on the northern tip of Bellagio. From the lakeshore, you work your way up through the narrow streets of charming Bellagio. After you leave Bellagio the road becomes quite steep. Many segments have a gradient of 10 %. For a while, you follow a fellow cyclist. From time to time you can see Lake Como. Before the final push to the top, you have a descent where you can recover your legs. As you reach the top, having climbed 615 meters / 2484 feet, you leave your bike outside and enter the church dedicated to Madonna del Ghisallo the patron of cycling.
You can find most of the route on this Strava segment:

Adding music to the ride:
Most cyclists would agree that the ride to Col du Tourmalet is awesome. But when it comes to music opinions are very mixed. This is why we do not add music to our rides. We simply do not want to spoil your ride with music you do not like. But it is quite simple to add it yourself. Open an extra browser tab. Find a site that offers music (Spotify, YouTube, etc…) and pick the music you like and enjoy the ride...

Madonna del Ghisallo (Giro di Lombardia)
Madonna del Ghisallo is a hill in Magreglio, close to Lake Como in Italy. It is named after an alleged Marian apparition.
According to the legend, the Medieval count Ghisallo was travelling by the hamlet of Magréglio when he was attacked by bandits. He saw an image of Virgin Mary at a shrine, ran to it and was saved from the robbers. The apparition became known as La Madonna del Ghisallo, and she became a patroness of local travellers. In later times, the hill Madonna del Ghisallo was made part of the Giro di Lombardia bicycle race and has often featured in the Giro d'Italia as well. The church sits atop a steep hill that climbs up from the shores of Lake Como. It became a natural stopping point for cyclists.
For this reason a local priest, Father Ermelindo Vigano, proposed that La Madonna del Ghisallo be declared the patroness of cyclists. This was confirmed by Pope Pius XII. Nowadays the shrine of Madonna del Ghisallo contains a small cycling museum with photos and artifacts from the sport. There also burns an eternal flame for cyclists who have died. One particularly notable artifact is the crumpled bicycle that Fabio Casartelli, a native of the region, rode on the day that he died in a crash in the Tour de France.
The church is home to many bikes and cycling jerseys used by cyclists in races. The Fondazione Museo del Ciclismo-Madonna del Ghisallo was created in 2000. Its first action was to organize a torch relay from the chapel to the Vatican, delivering the torch to the then Pope John Paul II. In 2010 a bike museum, the Museo del Ciclismo, opened nearby.
The Colle del Ghisallo is a mountain pass road that connects the upper part of Valassina Larian Triangle. The point of the pass, at an altitude of 754 m above sea level, is located near Magreglio

Located in #Magreglio overlooking #LakeComo, by the #MadonnadelGhisallo sanctuary chapel that contains an exposition of vintage bicycles and cycling memorabilia, many former champion’s trophies and cycling historical images.
Beside the church there is the cycling museum “Museo del Ciclismo del Ghisallo”.
It’s a very recommended place worth a visit if you love #cycling history and it’s also a great area to discovery for #cycletouring if you are a keen #cyclist.
Just passed the church, the road descends for a few kilometres towards Erba, then with a right turn at a roundabout, you will discover the #Sormano climb with also the steepest climb variation called the “Muro di Sormano” a 1800 metres climb with a 12% to 27% gradient!

The interior of the Madonna del Ghisallo chapel in Lake Como, Italy. Known as the Patron Saint of Cyclists, the Madonna's chapel is home to hundreds of historic cycling memorabilia, including the bikes of Bartali, Coppi, Casartelli, and Moser.
The chapel often rotates its exhibits with the much larger Ghisallo Cycling Museum next door. These were seen in November 2017.

Italian Chapel That's A Shrine To Cycling Heroes
According to CNN, every inch of wall space of the tiny church of Madonna del Ghisallo above Lake Como is covered in two-wheel memorabilia from the biggest races and the greatest riders. The church is festooned with pre-and post-war cycles, and bikes from legends such as five-time Giro d'Italia champions Fausto Coppi and Eddy Merckx, plus other former winners Gianni Motta and Francesco Moser, as well as myriad pictures, club pennants and cycling jerseys.
It looks a bit like an old bike shop, says UK-based Italian Livio Nannetti, who leads cycle tours for the sporting brand Rapha.
The walls are covered, there are bikes everywhere where normally you get saints and statues.
