What to do Magaluf
Palmanova and Magaluf are some of the most known resorts of Majorca, and above all Magaluf is very wellknown in England, where most people under 25 years know this place.
Palmanova and Magaluf are located on the south west coast of the island and belong to the municipality of Calvià, only 20 km from the capital Palma de Mallorca.
Palmanova and Magaluf are united by the „Paseo Calvià, a pedestrian woodlanded walkway with parks for children. They are only separated by the little Peninsula of Torrenova. There is a defence tower located 40 meters above the sea level, Torre de Sa Porrasa.
In Palmanova there are 3 beaches notable for the quality of the water: they have been awarded a Blue Flag to acknowledge their clean environment: Es Carregador, Playa de Palmanova and Son Matías. The installations provide the tourists with a high degree of comfort.
Due to the beach's quality they are the perfect setting to practice water sports: jet ski, paddle surf, diving etc.
In Magaluf everything revolves around leisure and hollidays, with all kind of facilities and attractions.
Palmanova and Magaluf are not only „sun and beach, but also several activities for the entire family and for the youngest.

Magaluf (/mæɡəˈluːf/, Catalan: [məɣəˈluf], Spanish: [maɣaˈluf]), also spelled Magalluf in English[citation needed], is a major holiday resort on the Spanish island of Majorca, primarily catering for the British, Russian, Irish, German, and Scandinavian package holiday market. Magaluf is in the municipality of Calvià and is situated within a group of towns, primarily Torrenova and Palma Nova. Son Sant Joan Airport – Majorca's main airport – is 24 kilometres (15 mi) from Magaluf.
There are many bars and nightclubs in Magaluf and many DJs have played at the resort including David Guetta, DJ Sammy, Freemasons, Basshunter, Judge Jules, Tiesto, Pat Sharp, Calvin Harris, Tim Westwood, Greg James and Lauren Pope. Night-life in Magaluf is centred on the Punta Balena strip, where most of the night clubs and bars such as Magalluf Rocks and Faces Magalluf are located. The resort is extremely popular with Stag and Hen Groups.
Magaluf is part of the municipality of Calvià and is located within a group of towns which includes Palma Nova and Torrenova. The resort caters to young (mainly British[1]) adults and couples as well as families, with peak season during July and August. The winter season (November through March) sees the population of Magaluf consist of mainly[2] local residents, with most resort and package-based hotels closing their doors. The Palma Nova resort is located just north of Magaluf and is approximately a five-minute drive from the centre of Magaluf.
Magaluf consists of a white sandy beach and the Magaluf strip, which is the centre for the main nightlife and restaurants. The twin resorts of Magaluf and Palma Nova are the largest resort developments of the municipal district of Calvià, and are situated on the island's south west coast at the western end of the huge Palma Bay, approximately 15 kilometres (9 miles) from Palma, and the Son Sant Joan International airport. Meliá Hotels International started the required investment for the first stage in modernising the resort of Magaluf, by updating four hotels on the beach front, known as the Calvià Beach Resort, which opened in June 2012.[3]
It is expected that within the next 5 years there will be renovation of other hotels in the area, changes in their use, improvement of existing facilities and construction of new facilities as well as the ability to attract visitors in the low season.[4]
A popular challenge for tourists is a swim to Black Lizard Island (Isla de sa Porrassa) located in the centre of Magaluf Bay. The island is known by this name due to the very high number of black lizards that can be found scurrying away during one's climb. The island is situated right in the centre of Magaluf's bay and is approximately 400 m away from the beach front. (

The Foreign Office alert comes as Storm Gloria closed Alicante airport, flooded homes and blanketed resorts with more than a foot of snow. One Spanish forecaster was quoted as saying the horror weather front is the worst to hit the country since in more than 35 years. Flights to London, Newcastle, Bristol, Edinburgh and other major UK cities were grounded after the Alicante terminal - the gateway to Benidorm - was shut down. Now, tourists are being advised to check the Spanish Civil Protection Unit for advice before heading to the Costas. And the Foreign Office warns: If you’re in the area you should exercise caution and follow the advice of the local authorities. Damage caused by flash flooding earlier in 2019 continues to affect some areas in the south of the Alicante and Murcia regions, causing some disruption to local transport and secondary road closures. Amazing photos from the site Benidorm Reviews show major roads sealed off by drifts and lorries stranded in snow. Maps from Spain's meteorological office (AEMET) reveal parts of the mainland are now covered by extreme weather warnings. The Balearics, Canary Islands, Almeria, Granada and Jaen are also on red alert for high wind, snowfall and intense rainfall which could cause severe disruption to transport and even danger to life. In a warning the AEMET said: The combination of Storm Gloria's position and the powerful European anticyclone...favours the entry of a mass of cold air from the interior of the continent. Together with the humid entrance of the Mediterranean, this is causing snowfall at very low levels of the third Eastern peninsular. The situation is accompanied by intense, persistent and locally strong rainfall in the same areas, with accumulations throughout the episode that could promptly reach 150mm. Copious snowfall is expected today from about 300/500 meters in the third Eastern peninsular, being able to accumulate more than 20-40 cm in areas. Drifts have already built up inland after a snow storm Villena, Valencia, left the city's 35,000 inhabitants completely cut off. Earlier it was revealed Gloria had claimed its third victim, as a 54-year-old homeless woman froze to death in a park in Spain. The Romanian native died from hypothermia and was found dead in the Costa Blanca resort of Gandia. Local reports said the unnamed woman and her husband had refused an offer of a bed from local social services ahead of the storm and had only accepted blankets and food. Aside from plunging temperatures, Storm Gloria is bringing 75mph winds, 25ft waves and snow storms. This comes as a 43-ye
