Cagayan Valley's Golden Gate Bridge

MAY 26, 2016—After our visit to the Oldest Church Bell in the Philippines and Southeast Asia and a very heavy Cagayano lunch in the town of Camalaniugan we proceeded with our Cagayan Road Tour southbound to the direction of Tuguegarao. Our next immediate stop is Magapit Suspension Bridge, famous among the folks of Cagayan Valley for being the longest—and only one of two—suspension bridge in the Philippines. Built in 1978, it is also often referred to as the Golden Gate bridge of Cagayan Valley.

From the northern regions of the island of Luzon we have a suspension bridge located in Lal-Lo Cagayan. The Magapit Suspension bridge. Another famous landmark in the Philippines.

The Magapit Bridge is suspension bridge that opened in 1978 to connect the east and west sides of the Cagayan River in the province of Cagayan. It is located in Magapit, Lal-lo, Cagayan, Philippines. The bridge was also named by the locals as the Golden Gate of Cagayan. This bridge is one of the only two bridges in the province that runs across the mighty waterway of the Cagayan River.

Pinoy Joyride - AH26 Lal-lo to Sanchez Mira / Cagayan Joyride

Passing the northern Luzon roads near Babuyan Islands, due to the North eastern monsoon, cold rainy weather welcomed me in this part of Ah26. You could even hear AM radio stations from Taiwan from here. This is my Cagayan Joyride - Asian Highway 26/Maharlika highway from Lal-lo to Sanchez Mira. In the video you could see the Magapit Suspension Bridge at Lal-lo (formerly Nueva Segovia). I was returning from Aparri to Ilocos Norte and the waether was really depressing due to rains. Passing the municipalities of Lal-lo, Allacapan, Ballesteros, Abulug, Pamplona and ending the video at Sanchez Mira for a break.
