Our First Holiday : Ibiza 2019
Hi everyone, we're Brandon and Amber. We've just come home from our break in Santa Eulalia, Ibiza. Below we have summarised the break-down of all activities we participated in. If you have any further questions about the businesses we visited, please ask :)
Day 1- We stayed in Santa Eulalia and explored this area on the first day. We went swimming in a quiet back beach and then walked into the town centre. In the evening, we got a taxi to Amnesia to watch Sub-Focus, Wilkinson and Andy C.
Day 2- We travelled to ‘Divestar Ibiza’ to have a try at snorkelling! (website ) They looked after us very well and gave us free reign over where we wanted to explore. They provided great equipment and the excursion included a speed boat trip. As it was a Wednesday, we timed it perfectly (accidently) in line with the local ‘Hippy Market’, a popular event just a 5 minute walk away. We decided to walk back 5 miles to the hotel, and in the evening we played bingo in our resort (which we lost)!
Day 3- We walked a short distance to Santa Eulalia bus stop and travelled to tourist hotspot Sant Antoni de Portmany. We originally had our heart set on parasailing, but it was too windy! Instead in the spur of the moment we went jet-skiing, which was an incredible experience. We went with ‘Jet Ski Ibiza Beach’ ( They have extremely mixed reviews on Tripadvisor, but personally we found them brilliant and good value for money at €30 each for an hour experience and boat trip. In the evening we got the bus back, in time for a swim in the pool.
Day 4- We spent all day in our beautiful hotel ( playing archery, attending the ‘Mojito Party’ and swimming. In the evening we had a special ‘A La
Carte’ meal, which the hotel provides once during your stay for free as a treat night.
Day 5- We chilled by the pool and played ping-pong, played pool and another round of archery. We travelled home in the afternoon.
All the footage is filmed either on GoPro or iPhone8/XS.

Celebrity Edge Med Cruise / Ibiza / (Part 4 of 9)
We set off on our very first cruise in August 2019 which was on the stunning Celebrity Edge ship. We cruised around Spain, France and Italy and had the time of our lives.
In this vlog we arrive in Ibiza, Spain where we head into the Old Town of Ibiza and have a fairly strenuous climb up to the top (HEAT!!). After our touristy bit we returned to the ship to fully indulge on the huge choice of food available and to enjoy the Retreat sundeck. We set sail on an AT SEA day heading to France which you can see vlog Part 5.

Island in Spain
Ibiza is an island in the Mediterranean Sea 79 km off the coast of the city of Valencia in Spain. It is the third largest of the Balearic Islands, an autonomous community of Spain. With Formentera, it is one of the two Pine Islands or Pityuses. Wikipedia
Population: 132,637 (Jan 1, 2010)
Area: 571 km²
Island groups: Balearic Islands, Pityusic Islands

Ibiza is considered to be a popular tourist destination, especially due to its legendary and at times riotous nightlife centred around two areas: Ibiza Town, the island's capital on the southern shore and Sant Antoni to the West.[1] Well-known nightclubs are Privilege, Amnesia, Space, Pacha, Eden, Es Paradís, Underground and DC10.[1] During the summer, the top producers and DJs in dance come to the island and play at the various clubs, in between touring to other international destinations. Some of the most famous DJs run their own weekly nights around the island. Many of these DJs use Ibiza as an outlet for presenting new songs within the house, trance and techno genres of electronic dance music. The city has achieved renown worldwide fame as a cultural center for house and trance in particular, with its name often being used as a partial metonym for the particular flavor of electronic music originating there, much like Goa in India.
Since 2005, the live music event, Ibiza Rocks, has helped to redefine the Ibiza party landscape. Bands such as Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian, The Prodigy, and the Kaiser Chiefs have played in the courtyard of the Ibiza Rocks Hotel. And from 2013 Ushuaïa Ibiza will be turned into a giant ant colony to coincide with the new ANTS dance music events every Saturday.[18]
Elsewhere on the island, underground music parties are common and enjoyed by the many international musicians, artists, and travelers that are drawn to the unique creative environment of Ibiza.
The season traditionally begins at the start of June with Space and DC10's opening parties and finishes on the first weekend of October with the Closing Parties. A typical schedule for clubbers going to Ibiza includes waking at noon, early evening naps, late night clubbing, and disco sunrises. Due to Ibiza's notable tolerance toward misbehaviour from young adult tourists, it has acquired the sobriquet Gomorrah of the Med. Also well-known is Café del Mar, a long-standing bar where many tourists traditionally view the sunset made famous by José Padilla, who has released more than a dozen eponymous album compilations of ambient music played at the location. That and other bars close by have become an increasingly popular venue for club pre-parties after sunset, hosting popular DJ performers.
The island's government is trying to encourage a more cultured and quieter tourism scene, passing rules including the closing of all nightclubs by 6 a.m. at the latest, and requiring all new hotels to be 5-star.[19] The administration wants to attract a more international mixture of tourists.[20]

Sea and sand
Crystal-clear waters, pristine beaches, natural coves, otherworldly scenery… The Ibiza coastline is marked by one of a kind, awe-inspiring places to enjoy the beach and sea all year long. Taste a paella or take in a seaside concert, ramble down the coast by boat or kayak, go scuba diving or try all manner of other water sports. Or simply dig your feet into the sand and watch the sun go down. The options are endless.
From never-ending golden sand beaches to secluded coves fit for an afternoon chill, variety is one of the Ibiza coastline’s signatures. Another is the abundant wealth of its prized scenery and sea floor. (Meadows of Posidonia oceanica, a native seagrass, are listed as a World Heritage site.)
Dive into our crystal-clear waters!
Ibiza is known to the world for beautiful beaches and glass-like waters and that is precisely why visitors come in droves seeking them out. Aboard a boat, from a spot on the beach or on a stroll down the more than 50 kilometres of shoreline—however you choose to enjoy it—one of the island’s most impressive attractions is, of course, its sea floor. Beaches like Platges de Compte and tucked-away gems like Cala Oliva are picture-perfect spots to take it all in, apart from the fact they are the site of Ibiza’s dry docks (designated cultural heritage sites) and local fare of the kind served up at traditional chiringuitos (“beach bars”). Instrumental to Ibiza’s crystalline waters is posidonia oceanica, a marine plant which filters out impurities in the water and the surrounding sea. When their life cycle concludes, the dead seagrasses wash up on the shore and, in the process, naturally anchor sand in its place. The plant is fundamental to ensuring the Ibiza landscape’s continued enjoyment for future visitors.
The island’s governing authority, el Consell d’Eivissa, has drawn up some basic guidelines for anyone navigating nearby waters, part of an effort to safeguard Ibiza’s coast and, in particular, its posidonia meadows. To that effect, the Consell has also published a brochure called “Navega en verde” (“Green navigating”). Whether romping in the water near the shore or zipping across it in a boat, it is important to have a basic understanding of appropriate behavior. By regularly brushing up on a few basics, we can ensure a peaceful coexistence between the natural world and humans.
Boats in the Balearics are prohibited from dropping anchor on fields of posidonia seagrass. The regulations are aimed at preventing the plants’ uprooting or other damage. However, various alternatives to anchoring do exist. Safe buoys or blocks, for one, can be used in designated areas. Additionally, any spills in the sea must be taken extremely seriously. Even when composed of organic matter, spills alter the ambient physical and chemical makeup of water and can impact its natural balance.
Our tips for responsible boating include information about safe anchoring spots, how to reserve posidonia-friendly buoys and designated locations to offload bilge water in every port.
To raise awareness about this marine plant, Eivissa Town’s Ajuntament (“neighbourhood council”) has prepared a number of activities on Saturdays in September. On the agenda are guided kayak visits of seagrass meadows plus displays of posidonia-inspired creations from local Ibiza and Formentera jewellers Elisa Pomar and Enric Majoral. Among the initiative’s other participants are a number of island restaurants which have promised special menu items, each with the Peix Nostrum guarantee.
Protecting our environment, however, is about much more than all that. Truly earth-friendly behaviour means taking care of our birds and their neighbours. Music and loud noise are prohibited in protected bird habitats, which means boat parties and related activities are out. Movement in those areas is also restricted for certain types of watercraft, as detailed on the Ajuntament’s website. Protecting our local environment is a job for which we need everyone’s participation. When you’re on holiday, think green!
