WA.NT Trip Part 5 | Kakadu National Park | NT
Kakadu National Park, one of the biggest Wildlife parks in the Northern Territory... Only because they don't have many! ????
In this episode we visit Jim Jim Falls, Gunlom Falls, Barramundi Gorge (Maguk), Gunlom Falls and Motor Car Falls. All of them are very different and special in their own little way.
Hiking to the top of Jim Jim Falls is a highlight, with the spectacular views of the valley below.
Sadly there was virtually no 4wding in this video and everything was very accessible to almost any high clearance vehicle. But the spectacular gorges and waterfalls made up for it!
Fun Fact: A scene of the Australian movie Crocodile Dundee was filmed at the bottom of Gunlom Falls!

My Bucket List idea Gunlom Falls infinity pool, Waterfall Kakadu National Park Australia Plunge Pool
Gunlom Falls is located on Waterfall Creek, in the Kakadu National Park, and it has been a Bucket List idea of mine for a long time. I have now been there, and had a swim in the infinity pool it’s just amazing, magical even. It has well and truly lived up to my expectations of it, and I am sure I will be going back again
To get to the rock pool at the top of the waterfall, you follow a steep walking trail, which takes you from the bottom of the waterfall, up to the plunge pool and the amazing views at the top.
I was at Gunlom Falls the third week in May, and that is when this video was filmed.
Kakadu National Park is in the Northern Territory, Australia. It is very popular with tourists, they travel there from all over the world.
I hope you enjoyed this video.

Traveling Australia!
Jim Jim Falls • Kakadu National Park • Northern Territory
17-18 June 2016
The drive to Jim Jim Falls is long and bumpy, but well worth the trek! Once you've driven for around 45-60 minutes down the dirt road, the hike to the falls is a further 30-45 minutes over rocky terrain. The water in the gorge was AMAZING, freezing and breathtaking. Apparently there are freshwater crocs in there, but we didn't see any. I highly recommend the swim across to the waterfall and then climbing up and standing on the ledge. This is nature at it's finest.

Kakadu is dual-listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List for its outstanding natural and cultural values.
People aren’t exaggerating when they refer to Kakadu as a world-class destination – only a few dozen sites around the globe appear on the World Heritage List for both their natural and cultural significance (and only four places in Australia).
The park is a living cultural landscape. Its archaeological sites record the skills and way of life of Aboriginal people over tens of thousands of years. Kakadu’s rock art documents Indigenous creation stories and makes up one of the longest historical records of any group of people in the world.
Kakadu’s ancient escarpment and stone country spans more than two billion years of geological history. It’s rivers and coastal floodplains are more dynamic environments, shaped by changing sea levels and big floods every tropical summer.
Kakadu National Park was first added to the World Heritage List in 1981, with further areas added in 1987, 1992 and 2011.

August 18th-20th 2017
We spent George's 23rd Birthday in the Kakadu National Park. This started with a trip to Gunlom Falls. A steep climb but a beautiful waterfall and infinity pool at the top! We then went to Maguk Falls for a early morning swim and spent the afternoon walking to Jim Jim Falls. No water falling but still spectacular scenery. The next day we went to Cooinda and Yellow Water and to see Aboriginal Rock Art at Ambangbang. Incredible culture and history. We saw more at Ubirr and a typical Northern Territory sunset over the plains!

Jabiru Town - personal street view - Kakadu Nationalpark, NT, Australia
Watch in HD and fullscreen.
A personal street view of Jabiru town in Kakadu Nationalpark, Top End, Northern Territory, Australia.
Jabiru is a town in the Northern Territory of Australia. It was originally built in 1982 as a closed town to house the community living at Jabiru East near the Ranger Uranium Mine eight kilometres away. Both the mine and the town are completely surrounded by Kakadu National Park. At the 2006 census, Jabiru had a population of 1,135 (Wp).
Apart from the Ranger mine, Jabiru's most notable industries are tourism (it is the commercial and accommodation hub of Kakadu National Park), and Aboriginal arts and culture.
Jabiru has a confusing layout with winding streets, many green places and view obscuring trees.

Pluses:
This resort is well located for exploring Kakadu, after which the pool was most welcome. Breakfasts were included in our stay and were great! Evening meals in the restaurant were lovely also.
The staff is more than nice and helped me when I got sick. They were more than friendly. Good hotel if you want to visit the Kakadu Park.
Minuses:
The Crocodile seems a little dated and tired these days, but in the middle of Kakadu accommodation options are few.. We had to drag our cases up steep flights of stairs... not a pleasant experience.
The hotel is old. But good staff made it up. It needs a renovation.

Kakadu National Park, Australia
