MAHAKALI (WARDHA).
The Mahakali Mata Mandir located in the Dham dam reservoir (Wardha) is famous for its serene scenery. The location is generally addressed as Mahakali. This temple is submerged underwater and is accessible only once a decade when the water level decreases during summers.
Although there is new temple built at the start of the dam, the old temple is the main attraction here which is not known to many visitors.
This place has had a peak visitor count of approximately forty thousand a day.
Locals acknowledge this place as Dakshin ka Vaishnodevi Dham.
The dam is surrounded by forest on all sides with a few villages near it.
