Mahant Ghasidas Memorial Museum is located in Raipur, the capital of the state of Chhattisgarh in India. It is an archaeological museum. It was built in 1875 by King Mahant Ghasidas. In 1953, this building was renovated by Rani Jyoti and her son Digvijay. The museum exhibits weapons specimens, prune coins, sculptures and carvings, etc.,

Museum महंत घासीदास स्मारक संग्रहालय Raipur 2018

Mahant Ghasidas Memorial Museum महंत घासीदास स्मारक संग्रहालय भारत में छत्तीसगढ़ राज्य की राजधानी रायपुर में स्थित है। यह एक पुरातात्विक संग्रहालय है। इसे 1875 में राजा महंत घासीदास ने बनवाया था। वर्ष 1953 में रानी ज्योति और उनके पुत्र दिग्विजय ने इस भवन का पुनर्निर्माण करवाया था। इस संग्रहालय में हथियारों के नमूने, प्रावीन सिक्कें, मूर्तियाँ और नक्काशी आदि प्रदर्शित किए गए हैं, साथ ही क्षेत्रीय आदिवासी जनजातीय परम्पराओ को प्रदर्शित करने वाले कई प्रादर्श यहाँ रखे गए है।सन 1953 को इस संग्रहालय भवन का लोकार्पण गणतंत्र भारत के प्रथम राष्ट्रपति डॉ. राजेन्द्र प्रसाद के करकमलों द्वारा किया गया। इस संग्रहालय में वर्तमान में कुल 17279 पुरावशेष एवं कलात्मक सामग्रियां हैं जिनमें 4324 सामग्रियां गैरपुरावशेष हैं तथा शेष 12955 पुरावशेष हैं।

Museum in Raipur offers insights into Sikh's cultural heritage

Raipur (Chhattisgarh): Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sikh Museum in Guru Nanak Nagar of Raipur city stands testimony to the centuries-old glorious history of Sikhs. Spread across 5,000 square feet, the museum has been built in honour of ninth Sikh Guru Tegh Bahadur. The museum aims to enlighten visitors about the ten Sikh gurus and the religion, which is the fifth largest organised religion. It principal aim is educate youth about rich culture and history of Sikhism. The museum contains a replica of the golden temple which is beautifully showcased inside a glass case. It also has a library where visitors can read books on Sikhism and about Sikh Gurus and a home theatre where they can comfortably sit and watch the history of religion through films. Along with this, museum has 73 portraits of Sikh gurus. Ever since its inauguration, earlier this month, visitors have flocked the place in large numbers and they call their visit educative and insightful.Such museums not just help in preserving the history but also provide an opportunity to youths who are overwhelmed by the flow of information, to educate themselves about the rich history of the religion.

Raipur (Chhattisgarh), Jun 12 (ANI): A unique museum to promote Sikhism called ‘Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Sikh Museum’ opened in Chhattisgarh’s Raipur. Visitors can learn and know about the 10 Sikh gurus and other personalities related to history of Sikhism in the museum. The aim of the museum is to connect younger generation to the history of Sikhism.
