Agriculture plays a vital role in India’s economy. Over 58 per cent of the rural households depend on agriculture as their principal means of livelihood. Agriculture, along with fisheries and forestry, is one of the largest contributors to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
As per estimates by the Central Statistics Office (CSO), the share of agriculture and allied sectors (including agriculture, livestock, forestry and fishery) was 15.35 per cent of the Gross Value Added (GVA) during 2015–16 at 2011–12 prices.
India is the largest producer, consumer and exporter of spices and spice products. India's fruit production has grown faster than vegetables! making it the second largest fruit producer in the world. India's horticulture output, comprising fruits, vegetables and spices,has reached to a record high of 283.5 million tonnes (MT) in 2014-15. It ranks third in farm and agriculture outputs. Agricultural export constitutes 10 per cent of the country’s exports and is the fourth-largest exported principal commodity.

Mandore Gardens Jodhpur
Mandore is an ancient town, and was the seat of the Mandorva branch of the Gurjar -Pratihara dynasty which ruled the region in the 6th century AD by King Nahar Rao Panwar. In 1395 AD, a Mohil princess of the Parihar rulers of Mandore married Chundaji, scion of the Rathore clan of Kshatriyas. This was during the era of rapid ascendency of the Rathore clan, and Chundaji received Mandore in dowry. The town remained the seat of the Rathore clan until 1459 AD, when Rao Jodha, a Rathore chief who united the surrounding region under his rule, shifted his capital to the newly founded city of Jodhpur.
Mandore was the capital of the erstwhile princely state of Marwar (Jodhpur State), before moving to Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur.
Mandore town boasts several monuments. The now ruined Mandore fort, with its thick walls and substantial size, was built in several stages and was once a fine piece of architecture. A huge, now ruined temple is a highlight of the fort. The outer wall of the temple depicts finely carved botanical designs, birds, animals and planets.
The 'Mandore gardens', with its charming collection of temples and memorials, and its high rock terraces, is another major attraction. The gardens house the Chhatris (cenotaphs) of many rulers of Jodhpur state. Prominent among them is the chhatri of Maharaja Ajit Singh, built in 1793.
Bheruji's temple is located in Mandore Gardens near Jodhpur. Most oswal families seek Bheruji's blessing after performing the tonsure (mundan) and Jat (Jay-ti or Jwar) ritual at Osiya Mandir, Gora Bheruji or Kala Bheruji which varies from family to family. Inside the temple, Gora Bheruji reside on left side, Kala Bheruji on right side and Ganeshji is sitting in middle.
Mandore Gardens located about 5 miles north of Jodhpur is on the way to Osiya. The garden timings are 8 AM to 8 PM.

उदयपुर। किसानों के महाकुंभ के नाम से पहचान बना चुके ग्लोबल राजस्थान एग्रीटेक मीट 'ग्राम' के तीसरे संस्करण का आयोजन आज से उदयपुर में शुरू हो गया है। तीन दिवसीय 'ग्राम' के आयोजन में इस बार करीब 24 हजार किसानों के शामिल होने की उम्मीद है, जिनमें से करीब 20 फीसदी महिला किसान होगी। ग्राम में इस बार आठ देश जर्मनी, ब्राजील, पेरु, उज्बेकिस्तान, वियतनाम, स्पेन, रुस और अर्जेटिना के प्रतिनिधि हिस्सा लेंगे।
Udaipur is a major agriculture production hubs of Rajasthan. It has enormous potential in terms of horticulture, aquaculture, production of oilseeds, maize, spices, pulses, medicinal crops and the same can deliver rich dividends to farmers.
GRAM Udaipur 2017 is being organized from 7th to 9th November 2017 at Maharana Pratap University Of Agriculture & Technology, Udaipur, Rajasthan
