Mahogany Forest | Man-made Forest [Bohol / Philippines]
Mahogany Forest, or the man-made forest in Loboc is a 2-kilometer stretch of mahogany trees that carpet the sloping ground where the municipality of Loboc meets Bilar. Before and after this man-made forest are the naturally grown forests of Loboc and Bilar which are thick with a kaleidoscope of green foliage, different species of trees and giant ferns lining the road.
The man-made forest stands out because of the uniformity in height of the big trees, the spread of its branches, thickness and design of leaves. Seedlings abound around the older trees. Trunks, some thick and others just a few months old, grow resplendently straight up towards the sky which is obscured by the branches and the thick leaves.

Man-Made Mahogany Forest of Loboc and Bilar (Bohol, Philippines)
This man-made wonder is located in the long and winding road of Bohol countryside. You will notice that you are already there even if your eyes are closed because the air suddenly becomes cooler and it becomes a bit shady.
Nothing beats nature at one of it's finest!
I'm sorry if you find the noises distracting. It's just that I was inside a van and my mates were talking.

Travel Asia: Philippines Pt 6: Chocolate hills, mahogany man-made forest, Bohol geocaching
Our adventure in Bohol continues! As respected travellers, we jumped on a scooter and started exploring Bohol. There are plenty of tours you can take up for a couple of thousands of pesos, but we prefer to save money and what is more important freedom! We went to explore Chocolate Hills. The Chocolate Hills (Filipino: Mga Tsokolateng Burol) are a geological formation in the Bohol province of the Philippines. There are at least 1,260 hills but there may be as many as 1,776 hills spread over an area of more than 50 square kilometres (20 sq mi). They are covered in green grass that turns brown (like chocolate) during the dry season, hence the name.
We did a bit of geocaching (geocaching.com), which is an outdoor treasure hunt which people have been playing for 16 years by now. Participants use a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver or mobile device and other navigational techniques to hide and seek containers, called geocaches or caches, at specific locations marked by coordinates all over the world.
We saw Mahogany man-made forest stretching in a two-kilometer stretch of densely planted Mahogany trees located on the border of Loboc and Bilar towns. Before and after this man-made forest are the naturally grown forests of Loboc and Bilar which are thick with a kaleidoscope of green foliage, different species of trees and giant ferns lining the road.

Later we will be riding 38.322km in 242 days on a motorcycle from Singapore all the way to Leipzig & Delitzsch, Germany, raising charity money for children, who need help all over the world.
After living abroad for 6 and 12 years we started our biggest life adventure so far and went adventure biking through Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, China, Mongolia, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Russia again, Georgie, Turkey, Greece, Albania, Montenegro, Croatia, Bosnia Herzegovina, Croatia, Hungary, Austria to Germany.
Riding overland and crossing 24 borders is an exciting adventure that we want to share with you and put together our best places and greatest experiences, things to see, things to do and hope to pass on some tips & tricks we learned along the way.
