Free day out thanks to a gift from a student. Maiko Snow Resort is the closest resort to the highway in the Yuzawa area, and is worth a visit every now and then... but there are better options out there.

Skiing at Maiko Ski Resort near Niigata Japan on February 5th, 2013. Really nice powder. Its about 3 hours by bus from Shinjuku Station in Tokyo. The roundtrip bus ride and lift ticket cost only about $48 USD.

雪国-Snow Country- Minamiuonuma, Niigata, Japan／ First time skiing and snowboarding

“Minamiuonuma” is one of the most famous winter resort areas in Japan with delicious foods and abundant Onsen (hot springs).
In this video, we feature students of the International University of Japan (IUJ) having their first skiing, snowboarding and hot spring experiences.

Minamiuonuma is about two hours from Tokyo by Shinkansen! So please come and enjoy this area when you visit Japan.
