Flash Mob Portland, Maine
On May 6th, 2011 Flash mobbers converged in-front of the Portland Museum of Art. They had learned the moves on youtube, invited via facebook as well as on NEWS CENTER's Morning Report news show. Fans of Flash Mobs and Fans of NEWS CENTER came together for a flash of fun! We were blown away by our crowd size and how many of you learned the moves! It was awesome. Lee, Sharon & Kevin, our Morning Report Team, had a blast! Thanks for making this such a fun happening!
Portland Maine / New York New York
After hitting the ocean, I took a right turn and decided to hit the last 3 of the lower 48 states, I had never visited. So many people helped me along the way. The accompaniment is a beautiful song called One Day Closer. We are all one day closer to meeting our loving God. Thank you for giving me what I need, not what I want, I love you father. Again, these are not my photos, but they go along with the journey I traveled.

A cyclist POV of traveling from South Portland, over the Casco Bay Bridge, down Commercial Street in the Old Port, onto the Eastern Trail, passing the Graffiti Wall, up onto Tukey's Bridge, and connecting to the Back Cove trail. Nothing dramatic - just a taste of biking in Portland Maine area. This was relatively early on a Sunday morning so no big crowds yet, although a cruise ship was in port.
Bicycle Coalition of Maine's Bike Maine 2017!
Zach Schmesser of the Bicycle Coalition of Maine joins Fred for a chat and a preview of the upcoming Bike Maine 2017 event.
BikeMaine is a fully-supported, seven day cycling tour held in mid-September, the prime time to cycle in New England. The days are still warm, the nights are comfortably cool, and a hint of fall color is just beginning to appear on the trees.
Cyclists pedal an average of 55 miles per day along moderately challenging terrain on uncrowded, quiet roadways, through small towns rich in local culture. Take in an impressive range of scenery from pristine mountains to crystal clear lakes and streams. Enjoy locally-sourced foods like Maine seafood and fresh-from-the-farm produce at every meal.
Spend September 9-16th with BikeMaine and discover the “pathway to the peaks” as we experience spectacular natural beauty along specially curated daily routes paired with welcoming host communities and, of course, the freshest and tastiest food Maine has to offer.
Founded in 2012, BikeMaine is organized by the Bicycle Coalition of Maine, an advocacy group that has led the effort to make Maine better for biking and walking since 1992. BikeMaine was founded to promote the state as a bicycling destination and to use cycling as an economic development tool for local communities. The inaugural BikeMaine event was held in September 2013 and attracted 251 riders from 37 states and Canadian provinces and generated an estimated $235,000 in direct economic impact.

Cycling Trip USA Florida - Maine
Friedrich Müntjes loves cycling.
With his wife Carola he has already made several excellent tours in Europe. They rode over the Alps from Munich as far as Naples. Right across Switzerland and from the Baltic to Bavaria.
On retiring, at the end of 2014, Friedrich needed a new challenge. Right across the United States of America from New York to San Francisco was his first idea But he didn't want to wait until summer. So he changed the plan at short notice and the exciting tour along the east coast began in March 2015. All alone, he completed the 2800 miles tour in 64 stages.
Friedrich Müntjes takes us with him on his journey to the most important sites of the early settlers. Old and new are strung together like a pearl necklace.
The whole stretch is available as a GPS file and the 64 stages can be downloaded individually.
