Duckfat strives to keep its focus on great homemade food made from the best quality ingredients, a vision Rob and Nancy share with their dedicated team.

Rising Tide Beer Company:
Rising Tide Brewing Company is a family-owned craft brewery located in Portland, Maine. We specialize in artisanal, hand-crafted ales brewed in small batches. Our beers are available in cans and on draft in our tasting room in Portland's East Bayside neighborhood and at select locations in Maine, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire.
Liquid Riot:
The Liquid Riot Bottling Company was established on the waterfront in Portland’s Old Port, just blocks from City Hall and the location of the Portland Rum Riot, in homage to those that fought for their beverage of choice. As Maine’s first Brewery/Distillery/Resto-Bar, we take all the passion and energy of these past riots and put it into our own liquids, bottled or on tap, made fresh locally for your enjoyment.
Central Provisions:
The name Central Provisions pays homage to the original name of Dana Street and the first use of the building. Daniel Fox, who worked for the East India Trading Company, constructed a building to be used as a storehouse for provisions. This federal style brick building was erected on the corner of Fore and Central Street (now Dana Street) directly on the Wharf. The East India Trading Company’s ships would sail directly up to the building and unload their goods such as cotton, silk, indigo dye, salt, saltpeter, tea, and opium. In 1874, the East India Trade Company was dissolved. Throughout history, 414 Fore Street has served many different purposes. A wine and bitters shop named Rufus and Son’s moved into the building in 1894. They moved across the street and a barrel top and burlap bags shop moved in. After that, it was home to E. Cory who sold local blacksmiths and wood workers tools and materials.
Blue Rooster:
Hip counter serve offering creative, elevated spins on hot dogs, sandwiches & tater tots. Great food, great value; friendly, helpful staff. Best hotdogs, falafel. All good.
Taco Escobar:
Authentic Mexican cuisine, craft beer, and exciting specialty cocktails! A fun atmosphere, casual and affordable. Taco Escovar is located in 548 Congress Street.

Maine Beer Box Journey 2018
Maine's brewers have created an incredible piece of machinery to share their beer with beer fans around the world; The Maine Beer Box is a custom-built, 40 foot, refrigerated shipping container, complete with 78 beer taps on the side and a fully self-contained, C02 draft system.
In August of 2018, the Maine Beer Box was trucked over 1,000 miles around the state of Maine to pick up over 400 kegs of beer from 65 brewers taking part in the 2018 Global Brewers Trade effort between craft beer brewers from Maine and craft beer brewers from the United Kingdom. This is the video of that journey.
After shipping the Beer Box around Maine and across the North Atlantic, the Maine Beer Box and Maine beers will be featured at the Leeds International Beer Festival from September 6-9, where all 78 draft lines will be pouring fresh Maine beer to the 12,000+ attendees. After the event, brewers from around the United Kingdom will fill the Maine Beer Box up with their beers and the Maine Beer Box will be shipped back over to Maine to be featured at the Winter Session International Beer Festival on Saturday, November 10th, 2018 - thereby completing the global brewers trade. This event will serve as the capstone event to Portland Beer Week, a weeklong series of events in Portland, Maine celebrating all things beer.
To find out where the Maine Beer Box is headed next or learn more, visit mainebeer.us or mainebrewersguild.org.

S1E2 | Maine Beer Company || Local Brew
In episode 2 of Local Brew, Matt heads to Portland, Maine, where he catches a ride on one of Maine's coolest tours, The Maine Brew Bus. He chats with co-owner Zach Poole about why he started the bus and where it takes riders. Then it's off to visit Maine Beer Company, where he meets one of the owners, Dan Kleban, to talk about his very hoppy craft beer. Then Matt meets brewery Mark Fulton, who quickly puts him to work loading grain into the grist case, so they can brew a batch of Mean Old Tom. After that, Matt gets down and dirty, cleaning the mash tun from the inside out. Then Dan takes him to the conditioning room where he explains the process of conditioning beer in the bottle. Next they head to the tasting room to sample some of their deliciously hoppy American craft beer, including King Titus (their newest release), Mean Old Tom, and Lunch IPA. After the tasting is done, Matt heads to one of Portland's best beer bars, Novare Res Bier Café, to talk beer with the locals. There he grabs a beer with the owner, Eric Michaud, and learns about his passion for craft beer. Yes it's a about a local brewery, local people, and great craft beer in this episode of Local Brew!
