We proudly produce some of New Zealand's finest confections at our two boutique chocolate factories -- in Kerikeri, Bay of Islands and along the Marlborough wine trail near Blenheim.
Our hand-made chocolates and other natural temptations are perfect for special occasions, or a wonderfully special self-indulgent treat. Gift giving is so easy with Makana® Confections. Our chocolates are always appropriate, always appreciated. Gift wrapping is complimentary, of course, and we can ship directly to friends, family or associates with your personal greeting included.

Makana Confections specialises in gift-quality confections - all hand-made and using only the freshest, natural ingredients available to us.
You are welcome to visit our two boutique chocolate factories in New Zealand — one in the beautiful Bay of Islands area of the North Island, and the other in the heart of the Marlborough Wine Trail at the top of the South Island. Each facility is set up like a winery / cellar door where you can watch how we make our chocolates, taste a few samples and, of course, shop for delicious chocolates. At Makana we never add artificial flavourings, colourings or preservatives and all our confections are made with the finest and freshest ingredients possible to ensure your absolute satisfaction. Delivery to most New Zealand addresses (rural addresses take a little bit longer) are usually the next day ensuring your product is delivered as fresh as possible.

At Makana Confections we offer high quality handmade chocolates and other natural temptations for a self indulgent treat and also perfect as a gift for special occasions.
All our confections are hand-made using only the freshest, natural ingredients and our factories are set up like a winery cellar door where you can watch us make the chocolates, taste a sample and browse through the many delights in the shop.
We offer a range of Classic Truffles which blend fresh cream with chocolate, are delicately flavoured and hand dipped to perfection, all offering a decadent treat which will have you coming back for more.
For those with a penchant for nuts the ‘Naturally Nutty’ range are made up of Macadamia Nuts, Walnuts and Hazelnuts and combined with toffee, caramel and chocolate offer you a crunch sensation.
‘Other Tempations’ that don’t fit into the other categories include Chocolate Dipped Macadamia Shortbread, Orange Biscotti, Classic Caramels and Sugar-Free chocolate products and Wine Gelees.

Noory's Adventure to Aukland New Zealand
Spent the weekend in Aukland New Zealand, discovered the beautiful Rainbow falls and the Kerikeri River track. Day 2, I experienced the heart racing Sky Swing of Aukland and felt thermal pools in Kuirai Park. I ended the day at Hobbiton village and swung by the Makana chocolate factory to bring home over 10 boxes of their mouthwatering chocolates!

Today we are doing several things in Kawakawa, Bay of Islands. First, we check out The Bay of Islands Vintage Railway where we see restored trains and carriages in the Bay of Islands Railway workshop. After the Kawakawa Station we head to the Hunderwasser Toilets – the most famous public toilets in New Zealand! You can’t miss these Bay of Islands toilets, otherwise known as the Kawakawa toilets! After exploring Kawakawa in Northland NZ, we then return to Kerikeri where we stop by Makana in the Bay of Islands. Makana Confections is a chocolate shop with a chocolate factory in Kerikeri and a chocolate cafe.

Today we are going to one of the best waterfalls in New Zealand, Rainbow Falls in The Bay of Islands, as well as checking out the Kerikeri Stone Store and doing the Kerikeri Kemp House Tour. The Bay of Islands’ Rainbow Falls is a huge New Zealand waterfall that is very easy to access on the Rainbow Falls Walk. It’s also linked on the walk in Kerikeri to The Bay of Islands Stone Store Museum. We explore the Kerikeri museum in the Stone Store before doing a Kerikeri tour of the Kemp House – New Zealand’s oldest house!
