Shilin Night Market, located in the Shilin District is known to be one of the largest and famous night markets in Taipei. This market sure did not disappoint! Although it was raining most of the night, we did not let this stop us from exploring all parts of the market. We tried so many different types of Taiwanese food we couldn’t fit it all in the video. If you’re going to visit the Shilin Night Market, come hungry!

In this video we visit the BIGGEST outdoor night market in Taiwan! Garden Night Market 花園夜市. Hua Yuan Ye Shi, also known as Flower Garden Night Market, has become the most popular night market in Tainan. It has ALL the traditional Taiwanese food and the newer street foods we try in this video.
This night market is opened Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. If you're in Tainan on different days, check out Ta-Tung Night Market or Wusheng Night Market.
Each of the foods we got in this video range from NT$10 - NT$150 which is about $5. Taiwan street food is cheap, delicious, and flavorful!

A favorite between-meals snack for us,the Taiwanese know their fried chicken really well! Originating from Taipei’s night markets, this hugeass crispy chicken-ey snack is generously coated with sweet and spicy seasonings!
Using one whole chicken breast, butterflied and flattened out, and your biggest frying pan! If you have the time, let it marinate overnight. For the spice lovers, who want it either 小辣 or even 大辣 add chilli powder to the seasoning towards the end.
Give yourself a weekend treat and cook this really simple dish!

Crispy Taiwanese fried chicken is one of my FAVORITE foods to eat in Taiwan. From gigantic fried chicken steak (as big as my face!) to one-bite, no fuss Taiwanese popcorn chicken...you just can't go wrong!
Both stalls are located at Tonghua Night Market or Linjiang Street Night Market in Taipei: Alley 1, Lane 40, Linjiang Street, Da’an District, Taipei City, 106. Along this street you will also find other amazing street foods to try!
First stall name is Monga Fried Chicken 艋舺雞排 and second street stall is Popcorn Chicken King 台灣鹽酥雞. Both street stalls are hygienic and recommended for travelers to consume. But of course - feel free to venture out and try carts ;)!

Taiwan is known for its street food and snacks, definitely the one of the favourite stops of foodies.
(1) Paper Pork
Toasted minced pork are cut into rectangles before going through a machine roller to be flattened out and rolled into a cone. Best eaten cold though!
(2) Coffin Bread
Gothy sounding but tasty. Crispy on the outside and pillowy soft inside, the fillings ooze out when you take a bite into the coffin bread.
(3) Grilled Prawns
Catch your own prawns before grilling them! Nothing like getting rewarded for your hard work.
(4) Beef Noodles
Chewy noodles cooked in boiling hot water before being added into a savoury light beef broth.
(5) Passion Fruit Cheese Oyster
Fresh succulent oysters with a twist! These juicy oysters are topped with a generous layer of cheese and slightly charred with a blow torch before being served.
(6) Century Egg Tofu
Soft silky tofu with century egg and a light drizzle of sauce. Perfect appetiser.
(7) Hong Zao Meat Ball
A different type of meat ball with a chewy gelatin paste.
(8) Snow Ice
Nothing like a refreshing serving of fluffy shaved ice topped with freshly sliced fruits.

-Taiwanese-style clams with garlic and wine. While the stall we tried was OK, there are MANY places in Taipei with delicious clams. Get it stir-fried with basil - that's the best!

TAIPEI NIGHT MARKETS + Street FOOD Tour Taiwan
On this trip back to Taiwan, I visited three Taiwanese night markets in Taipei~ Shilin Night Market, Ximending Night Market and NInxia Night market.
I LOVE Taiwanese night markets and Taiwanese street foods. Taipei has at least 30 night markets! On this trip back to Taiwan, I visited three top Taipei night markets~ Shilin Night Market, Ximending Night Market and NInxia Night market. They are all located a short MRT ride away. Here's the Yumilicious street foods I bought at them!
Ximending Night Market
Ximending Market in Taipei is a huge trendy shopping district and it’s the area where I’m staying at on this trip. The last time I was here, I came strictly for the interestingly themed Toilet restaurants. You’ll find a lot of trendy and fun foods three.

Ningxia Night Market
I meet up with my old girl friend Sharon again at this top Taipei night market. Ningxia Night Market is a slightly smaller local night market.It’s one street squeezed with vendors and tables. Foods here are definitely more of the local street food variety.

Shilin Night Market, Taipei
Shillin market is perhaps the most popular night market with tourists and locals because it has a huge variety of both, fun and traditional street foods to choose from and its got a lot of bargain shopping. You’ll definitely find some Michelin star rated street stalls. Are they really that good…?

1. 路地 ろじ - 市民大道店 is where we got the sesame shaved ice with Japanese dango and the cutest latte drink!
2. Sanhoyan is where we got a variety of Taiwanese buns and baos from sweet ones like red bean bun to BBQ pork bun.
