Why I dress as a Regency gentleman... everyday of my life - BBC News
Zack MacLeod Pinsent dresses as a British Regency gentleman every day, saying that the clothing is a huge confidence builder.
He ceremoniously burned his last pair of jeans when he was 14-years-old and hasn't looked back since.

Castlefield Artisan Market
Manchester's Market by the Canal
Once at the heart of Manchester's industrial revolution and latterly the centre of the city's renaissance as a leisure destination, Castlefield has always been a people magnet. Crossed by canals and interrupted by the occasional chug of a narrow boat, it's the perfect spot for a monthly market.
A stretch of the canal bank, usually reserved as a car park for weekday workers, can be found lined with market stalls, with craft traders sharing space with a wide range of food producers. First impressions reveal a rarity in urban markets -- it's one that you could do nearly your entire weekly shop at, presenting as it does a range of fresh vegetables, locally made bread, meats, pies, pastries and soups.
It's no ordinary shopping experience, and Paul's Smalls is one such stall that brings an innovative spin on tried and tested recipes to make it more memorable. Empanadas are a smaller, South American version of our bulky pasties, perhaps suited to warmer climates where baked stodge is less welcome. Paul, who travelled from Sale only a few miles down the road combines the delicacy of smaller pastries with robust fillings like 'Pigs 'n' Blankets' (sausage, bacon and caramelised onion chutney) and a good old 'Beef and Cheshire Ale'.
Exotic flavours, such as 'Marrakesh Lamb Express' are available too, so taking advantage of his pick n' mix offers means combining something tried and tested with an abundance of new and interesting flavours.
The Great North Pie Company does what it says on the tin. Boldly holding business together under grey (summer) skies, trading in hearty looking pies made in the region to exacting specifications. Beautifully, and simply, presented, proprietor and baker Neil Broomfield need do no more than show of the golden brown wares and people gather round to inspect them. Pulling in ingredients from around the region, including Macclesfield's ales for his 'Steak and Red Willow Ale' pie, there are no surprises in these pies, just great quality fillings.
The market's organiser's Asif and Jodie Farakhan, trade on the market themselves, bringing home made curries to Manchester shoppers, while international flavours can also be found on stalls selling contemporary Greek cuisine, Italian deli foods and prepared meals and more Indian street food with Atam's samosas and kebabs.
Like many of Manchester's markets, traders from further a field make short journeys to take advantage of the city centre trade, and Blackburn's Foodie Pots bring with them a range of home-made soups that are lovingly made from local produce in Lancashire. Flavours such as Mexican Bean make for a warming treat on a cold day, with hot samples available to all and cold pots of each flavour available to take home for reheating. To go with the soup. Of Crust and Crumb Artisan Bakery, from Delph, were present with an array of perfectly formed loaves.
This monthly market, taking place on the first Sunday of every month, is one of the best in town. Catch it on a day when the weather is hospitable and enjoy a drink outdoors while considering your day's purchases.

Bourgeois Guitars Review
➜Get more awesome instrument reviews:
If creating an instrument that has balance, power, dynamic range, and an uncanny level of responsiveness is a contest, this luthier will no doubt take the prize and win by a very large margin.
Dana Bourgeois is a luthier that not only puts incredible care into the wood he sources for his guitars; he also treats the materials in a way that gets the absolute most tone out of them.
Bourgeois guitars have been played by many many acoustic guitar luminaries and for very good reason. Dana seems to be the resident truth holder when it comes to voicing an acoustic guitar top to produce as much tone and volume that is possible. Tone is something that Bourgeois guitars offer in absolute truckloads. Sonically these guitars have the uncanny ability to balance volume and tone, which means you can project beautiful tone at such a volume that it will nearly always be heard.
Going beyond the tone, the appointments, specifications, and overall eye appeal of Bourgeois guitars is of an extremely elite level. From subtleties like purfling and coordinated bindings all the way to the inlay work and custom shop options these guitars are sure to make any guitar geek drool. The folks at Bourgeois can make the simple and classy guitar in a drop-dead gorgeous fashion, and they also can make a presentation level guitar that is classy and elegant. The attention to detail on these instruments is of the surgical level and each and every one I have ever played has literally been an experience I look back on fondly.
I have had the joy of being able to play a wide range of the guitars that Bourgeois offers from a Banjo Killer slope shoulder dread, to a Soloist, and most recently, an Aged Tone Large Soundhole OM that pretty much ruined me for all OM's. Literally, that guitar had one of the most memorable tones I have ever heard... so rich and pure, with each note speaking with the clarity of a piano, and the most remarkable set of overtones that seemed to offer the lushest harmonic support. But I digress...
Bottom line, Bourgeois guitars should be on your radar as a guitar geek. They are always building unique instruments that will make your jaw drop and your ears addicted. One place to frequent is the gallery of guitars on the Bourgeois site... not only do they list instruments that were just shipped, but they also feature some true custom beauties that are inspiring.
As you get curious about Bourgeois guitars and wish to play them make sure to visit some of the Bourgeois dealers that have previously been featured on the show. Places like Eddie's Guitars in St. Louis (make sure to talk to Matt as he knows Bourgeois Guitars inside and out) or even Heartbreaker Guitars down in Las Vegas (chat with Brendan) offer some beautiful pieces by Dana Bourgeois and his crew from Lewiston, Maine.
One thing that I nearly forgot, Dana's passion for luthiery is very evident and contagious. He can talk about voicing a top and every guitar geek within earshot will hang on every word... and for good reason. Dana's guitars are one thing that is inspiring, but the knowledge that he has of guitar building brings all of that to a whole different level.
The Rise And Fall Of Toys R Us
Toys R Us is closing its doors for good. The toy emporium that Charles P. Lazarus envisioned has been reduced to dusty floors and empty shelves.
Much has been said about the demise of the toy empire, which announced its plan to liquidate. There have been fingers pointed at corporate raiders, Amazon and big-box stores. All contributed to its undoing.
Ultimately, though, Toys R Us' collapse is a story of loyalty run dry. The store in its early days fostered devotion from customers and toymakers. In the end, it lost hold on both.

Just a Shave: Gillette Aristocrat 16 - Personna Vikings Sword (3) - BaM Diamond - TGN ST Premium 22
Razor: Gillette - Aristocrat 16 (UK)
Blade: Personna - Vikings Sword (3)
Lather: Barrister and Mann - Diamond
Brush: Golden Nib - Silvertip Premium 22mm (26 uses)
Post: Barrister & Mann - Hallows
*General Notes / TL;DR*:
Lather Games: The People's Choice (Most used artisan on /r/Wetshaving): Barrister and Mann
I love this guy. So many of his scents are my fav, and his bases are tremendous, even before Glissant. Another way he shines is in scent strength. So many of the new makers dilute their stuff so as not to offend, but I always get a good whiff of BaM stuff and it's there for me in the shave.
I'm really grateful for the Reserve line especially. Bringing back such classics to the present day, and in such a silky smooth base.
Barrister and Mann definitely deserved their own day in the sun this month!
*Razor and Blade Notes* - Gillette - Aristocrat 16 (UK) ::: Personna - Vikings Sword (3 uses):
Today, the blade feel was a bit more than usual with this razor, however it wasn't too much at all. Got a great shave with extra bit of closeness today.
No tugging or irritation during the shave, but the splash (alcohol-based) did stir up a bit of irritation.. but it was gone quickly enough.
*Soap Notes* - Barrister and Mann - Diamond:
Them: notes of freshly cut grass, stadium soil, beer, leather, pine, cedar, popcorn, and caramel
Scent: I love all the scents Will put into this one. And you can pretty much pick out each one. I don't know that it actually takes me back to a ball game, but I do know that I love it.
Scent Strength: 4-5/10, nicely present during shaving.
Glissant is a great lathering base. I think I like it better than Excelsior. So slick and creamy. The rinses today were just so luxurious. Excellent glide with the razor.
Maybe Excelsior has better post shave qualities, but since I don't care much about that, I'm super happy with Glissant.
* 30 second load with lightly-wet,badger brush
* 4 tsp water to build the lather
* = 5-6 passes of lather.
Bowl - I used the XL version of this bowl:
*Brush Notes* - Golden Nib - Silvertip Premium 22mm (26 uses):
Yep. This is my favorite brush. Tips are cloud soft, but there's enough backbone/density to have it not over-splay and lose connection with my face.
Right now, if I had to throw away all my brushes but one, I would keep this one.
I'm not going to call it the best, because these are just tools. It's about which one does the job the way you like it done. This one ticks all my checkboxes, even better than my Declaration knots.
**Shave Quality**
During the Shave Feel:
Cheeks: Felt blade but comfortable
Neck: Felt blade but comfortable
After the Shave Closeness:
Cheeks: Near BBS - About as close as I'll ever get
Neck: Cut flush to where I just see the tips (above average for me)

[Verse 1]
Days go by my window
World slows down as it goes
Goodbye to last night
Lost my eyesight
Can't you help me see?
(They won’t get right)
[Hook]
Loving every minute cause you make me feel so alive, alive
Loving every minute cause you make me feel so alive, alive
Alive, alive
[Verse 2]
Waking in the snow
Tracing steps with you
Swimming through the smoke
Wrapped in velvet gold
Can't you help me see?
(They won’t get right)
[Hook]
Loving every minute cause you make me feel so alive, alive
Loving every minute cause you make me feel so alive, alive
Alive, alive
[Verse 3]
Can you describe to me
All the world that you see?
Oh, I need you so much
I’ll just wait
Freedom is within you
Giving makes us feel good
Hello to our people
Say hello to the future
Freedom is within you
Giving makes us feel good
Hello to our ṗeople
Say hello to the future

Lyrics:
You think I’m pretty
Without any make-up on
You think I’m funny
When I tell the punch line wrong
I know you get me
So I let the walls come down, down
Before you met me
I was alright, but things
Were kinda heavy
You brought me to life
Now every February
You’ll be my Valentine, Valentine
Let’s go all the way tonight
No regrets, just love
We can dance until we die
You and I, we’ll be young forever
You make me
Feel like I’m a living a
Teenage dream
The way you turn me on
I can’t Sleep
Let’s run away
And don’t ever look back
Don’t ever look back
My heart stops
When you look at me
Just one touch
Now baby I believe
This is real
So take a chance
And don’t ever look back
Don’t ever look back
We drove to Cali
And got drunk on the beach
Got a motel
And built a fort out of sheets
I finally found you
My missing puzzlepiece
I’m complete
Let’s go all the way tonight
No regrets, just love
We can dance until we die
You and I, we’ll be young forever
You make me
Feel like I’m a living a
Teenage dream
The way you turn me on
I can’t sleep
Let’s run away
And don’t ever look back
Don’t ever look back
My heart stops
When you look at me
Just one touch
Now baby I believe
This is real
So take a chance
And don’t ever look back
Don’t ever look back
I’ma get your heart racing
In my skin-tight jeans
Be your teenage dream tonight
Let you put your hands on me
In my skin-tight jeans
Be your teenage dream tonight, tonight, tonight, tonight, tonight,
tonight, tonight, tonight, Tonight
‘Cause you make me
Feel like I’m a living a
Teenage dream
The way you turn me on
I can’t sleep
Let’s run away
