Lots 1, 3, 71 Malanda North, MALANDA, QLD
Malanda North Estate is the unmissable development opportunity for the Tablelands Region. First time to the market in over 45 years!
This substantial parcel of relatively flat land is already subdivided into 3 lots, zoned Emerging Communities. The property is extensive in size, with varied aspects, fenced and mostly cleared with some timber stands. Opportunities of this scope are a rare find indeed.
Bordering the township of Malanda and situated less than 20kms from the thriving town of Atherton, this block is brimming with a multitude of potential development opportunities.
Each lot hosts its own entry point for ease of development. Hugging one edge of the property is Cleminson Creek, with the North Johnstone River running along the other, further adding to the overall appeal of this idyllic gem.
This truly is a magical place to enjoy our tropical rainforest, beautiful waterways, a myriad of birds, platypuses and of course the elusive, rare Lumholtz tree kangaroo. INVITING ALL OVERSEAS INTEREST!

Duck-Billed Platypuses in the Wild! Atherton Tablelands, Australia
One of our missions while caravanning Down Under is to see as much indigenous wildlife as we can... in the wild, not a zoo or sanctuary, whenever possible. So we were thrilled to find platypus! (turns out that the correct plural for platypus is either platypuses or just platypusand not platypi).
We also drove the Millaa Millaa Waterfalls Circuit to see Millaa Millaa Falls, Zillie Falls, and Ellinjaa Falls.
Our awesome stop for the night was Malanda Falls Caravan Park, where you can walk right over to the falls, or hang with the cutest baby animals!

Ravenshoe - Atherton Tablelands
Ravenshoe
Queensland’s highest town, Ravenshoe is 920 metres above sea level and is home to Windy Hill wind farm which generates enough electricity to supply approximately 3,500 homes. Created on the extinct Windy Hill volcano in 2000 and its 20 wind turbines take advantage of the consistent winds on the volcano’s slopes.
The Ravenshoe Visitor Centre at 24 Moore Street provides first class tourist information and has excellent displays on the rainforest, timber-milling, dairy farming and WWII military presence in the area, plus a section on bats and a noctarium which simulates night spotting of local native animals. The Centre is also the home of the Nganyaji Interpretive Centre which showcases the culture and lifestyle of the region’s Jirrbal people whose language is the world’s oldest spoken language. On Sundays the historic steam train “Capella” runs to Tumoulin, Queensland’s highest railway station.
Ravenshoe is the highest point in the Misty Mountains walking tracks network, and is a great location for wildlife watching, particularly for platypus, 12 species of possums and 340 bird species and of course, Lumholtz’s Tree- Kangaroo, one of 14 species of kangaroo to be found in the area.
