Russia: Gear up! VR-based aviator helmet tested in Ryazan
State Ryazansky Instrumental Factory is attempting to innovate pilot and aviation gear by using virtual reality (VR) technology. Footage released Monday shows the unique helmet being tested out. It is designed for pilots operating Russian Mi-28NM helicopter.
This is a unique system, which design allows to project any necessary information on helmet-mounted display. In particular, all the crucial for piloting information can be displayed, explained the director general the State Ryazansky Instrumental Factory Pavel Budagov.
He continued saying, The helmet has environmental control system, to regulate the surrounding environment, including conditions of poor visibility, and also at night, which ensures the effective work of pilots.
The device uses VR-based technology to superimpose virtual information on a real live projection. This allows the pilot to receive flight, navigation and sighting information without looking at the dashboard.
The new device is currently undergoing technical tests before it will be handed over to the Ministry of Defence Centre of Aviation and Space Medicine for further testing.

Syria: Residents queue in Al Waer as Russian soldiers hand out aid parcels
Representatives of the Russian Centre for a Reconciliation of Opposing Sides on Monday delivered humanitarian aid to the residents of Al Waer, Homs Province, which was recently liberated from militants.
Dozens of people queued up as the Russian soldiers distributed packages of medicine and food.
Themilitants reportedly left the city in May after extensive negotiations with the officers of the Russian Centre for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in the Syrian Arab Republic.
SOT, Ilya Volovitsky, Russian Centre for the Reconciliation Officer (Russian): The negotiation talks took us a month, about 10-12 hours per day, sometimes they lasted till the night. It is not a pleasure to communicate with the terrorists, but according to the specifics of our job, we have to do it. We reached the agreement and confirmed that about 10,000 people would leave Al-Waer within two months. As a result, about 20,000 militants and members of their families left.

Our visit to Moscow was all about Russian architecture. The city was especially decorated like a Christmas tree to welcome FIFA 2018.
We flew from Oslo to Moscow via Riga by Air Baltic, a pretty decent carrier (no meals included though). Our stay at Arbat Street made it easy to visit the Kremlin at any point of the day. And thanks to Google translator for our communications, or else one is definitely doomed in the Cyrillic world.

RARE OTIS 1000R elevators - Komarova, 45 Apartment Building, Vladivostok, RU
Filming date: 23.07.2019
Something, that you don't see everyday in Vladivostok. Another cities in Russia have a lot of OTIS 1000R elevators, but in my hometown, I think, only this place has them. Quality of these lifts is not very good. When the elevator cabin lands on the 1st floor, the lift bounces up, which is really bad..

Vladivostok, Russia
Vladivostok is a major Pacific port city in Russia overlooking Golden Horn Bay, near the borders with China and North Korea. It's known as a terminus of the Trans-Siberian Railway, which links the city to Moscow in a 7-day journey. Almaty-2 railway station:
Almaty-2 is one of the oldest train stations located in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The station serves around average attendance of about 5000 people. During the summer however, the capacity of people increases to 10,000. Located in the center of the city, it serves as the primary departure point for passengers in all directions, including internationally, which are mostly Russian cities such as Moscow, St. Petersburg and Ürümqi in China. Domestic destinations are Astana, Shymkent, Petropavlovsk, Atyrau, Zhezkazgan, Mangyshlak, and Uralsk.
During the first years of building the station, the construction site of the building was located on the Turksib Krasnogvardeysky tract in place of the furniture factory. After the suggestion of the engineer, Mukhamedzhan Tynyshpaev, the construction was moved to the street, Starokladbischenskuyu (now named Abylai Khan), where the old cemetery was located. The cemetery was removed and was replaced with a station square which in later years saw tram and trolleybus services. The area opened a new path for a new avenue of the capital of Kazakh SSR. Railway Station Square has its own little history. In 1954, the monument to Abay was installed to the square. Then in 1972, a monument to Kalinin was added; it was removed in 1992. Finally in 2000, a monument to Abylai Khan was installed that is still standing. Around the square, an area of residential and public buildings were built. Until 1941, the train station and station facilities were built to a standard project. During the beginning of World War II, the east side of the building was built. The sides of the buildings are semi-circular projection in the facade in terms of volumes with large window panes located in the entrance part of the building. The sculptural composition of male and female figures, symbolizing the success, industry, agriculture and the Soviet Union. Decorative objects were made by a Czech sculptor Bogomil Vahek exiled during Stalin years who lived in Almaty. All architects, engineers and designers of the station were eventually subsequently repressed and shot due to the effects of the Great Purge. In 1977, the building was reconstructed. With an addition construction of the west wing which included renovation of technology disorders, changing the interior and exterior of the building.
