Mallalli Falls is situated in the northern region of Kodagu District, Karnataka. The Kumaradhara River is the main watercourse for this waterfall. The Kumaradhara later flows through Kukke Subrahmanya and merges with the Netravati River at Uppinangadi, which then empties into the Arabian Sea at Mangalore

Mallalli Water falls | Hiking
Mallalli Falls lies in the foot of Pushpagiri Hill Ranges, where Kumaradhara river takes a plunge over 200 feet . The falls is situated in Bettadahalli Gram Panchayat in Somwarpet Taluk of Coorg.
Mallalli Falls is one of the most beautiful water falls in Coorg. One would not disagree if someone says Malalli Falls better than Abbey Falls. This River flows down to Mangalore through Kukke Subrahmanya.
Mallalli falls is around 25 kilometers from Somvarpet or 42 kms from Kushalnagar. Monsoon as usual is the best time to see the real Mallalli Falls as there will be plenty of water which gushes down from the river and the mist and the green hills around adds to the beauty of Malalli Falls and the water usually dries up during summer.

Mallalli Falls, the stunning milky white waterfalls, lies in the northern region of Kodagu district in the south-western Indian State of Karnataka. These falls lie 26 kilometres away from the town of Somwarpet, at the foot of the Pushpagiri Hills. The falls originate where River Kumaradhara takes a deep plunge of over 1000 metres and then follow a natural route that ends into the Arabian Sea. The heavenly scenery with lush green forests and the clear white waters of River Kumaradhara falling deep from the point of origin of the waterfall is a sight never to be missed.

Day-1,Part-2(Vlog-2) of the Post Monsoon Ride covers our ride from Shanivarasanthe to Somwarpet visiting Bisle Beauty spot(View point) and Mallalli Falls.
Bisle Ghat :
Bisle Ghat - It is called so because Bisle(bisilu) means Sunlight, which even during the hottest day, won't be able to reach the floor of this thick forest. This might be true some years back but I guess forest are getting destroyed now days. However it looks real even now at some part of the roads. One of the most beautiful and un explored places in karnataka.
Around 5 km from Bisle towards Kukke Subramanya there is beauty spot of Bisle called Bisle Betta or Bisle View Point. From here one can see the mountain ranges of 3 districts: Kumara Parvatha (1319 m) of Dakshina Kannada district, Pushpagiri (1712 m) and Dodda Betta (1119 m) of Kodagu district and Patta Betta (1112 m) and Enni Kallu (900 m) of Hassan district. The highlight of this point is that the view has a valley, with Giri River separating the beauty point and these mountain ranges. The forest department has erected a shelter here to sit and enjoy the view.

If you travel towards Sakleshpur from Bisle Ghat, you will reach a scenic hamlet called Mankanahalli just five kms from Bisle. There you’ll find an inscription laid on a concrete platform. The inscription makes a mention of the Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal and the ‘Ridge’.
The ridge is the point in the mountains that determines which way rivers or streams are likely to flow. It is said that this stone was laid by the British.
British officers on their topographical survey of the Western Ghats found that it was the point where rain water splits and reaches two different seas. The rain water from the series of hills and mountains to the left of this point flows towards the west drainage basins that feed into the Arabian Sea while water from the eastern side drains into the Bay of Bengal.
The small rivers and streams that flow westward from this ridge point join the Kumaradhara and Nethravathi rivers after a short run varying from 20 km to 60 km and finally meet the Arabian Sea.
The eastward flowing water from this ridge flows for a length as tributaries of the Hemavathi river and is useful for irrigation and drinking water purposes.
The Bisle Ghat is close to Bisle, a hamlet situated amidst thick forest.
The hamlet borders the Bisle reserve forest. The diversity in wildlife here is immense.
Orchids, wild mushrooms, ferns, and fauna such as the tiger, wild dog, elephant, gaur, sambar, barking deer, flying squirrels, monkeys, all form part of the reserve. The region is also home to the King Cobra, one of the most venomous snakes on the face of the earth.

Mallalli Falls is located in the Western Ghats region of Coorg (Kodagu) District in Karnataka. This fall is situated in the foothills of Pushpagiri, around 25 kms from Somwarpet. Mallalli Falls is formed by the Kumaradhara River. This waterfall plummets down from a height of 1,027 meters and is one of the most beautiful waterfalls located in Coorg. It later flows through Kukke Subrahmanya and merges with the Netravati River - the lifeline of Mangalore at Uppinangadi. The place is ideal for an adventurous trip as one can embark on a trek tothe nearby Pushpagiri Peak, well known to trekkers in the Western Ghats region.
The best time to visit Mallalli Falls is during the months of June to September as this is the season of rains when the water thunders down at full volume.

Mallalli Falls, near Somwarpet, Coorg (Madikeri): The Mallalli Falls is 22 kms off Somvarpet and some 50 kms away from Madikeri or Coorg. The road upto last 2 kms is very good, both from Madikeri and Kushalnagar. One has to do the trek for 2 kms on a mud road. Steps were laid leading down to the fall.

Hi friends it was an one day solo ride from IT city Bengaluru to MALLALLI FALLS via SHRAVANABELAGOLA.
Route taken: Bengalure-Hirisave-Shravanabelagola-Channarayapattana-Somwarpet-MALLALLI WATER FALLS-Somwarpet-Gorur Dam road- Hassan Highway- BENGALURU.
Mallalli Falls is in Kodagu District located near Pusphagiri. Its unexplored hence less crowded and peaceful. One hectic part is 515 steps.
On the way went to Shravanabelagola but found it was also having 665 steps so dropped the plan for going till top.
