Malmö, Sweden
Malmö is the capital and most populous city in Skåne County, and the third largest city in Sweden. Together with Copenhagen, it constitutes the transnational Øresund Region, the most densely populated area in Scandinavia.
Malmö was one of the earliest and most industrialized towns of Scandinavia, but it struggled with the adaptation to post-industrialism. Since the construction of the Øresund Bridge, Malmö has undergone a major transformation with architectural developments, and it has attracted new biotech and IT companies, and particularly students through Malmö University, founded in 1998. The city contains many historic buildings and parks, and is also a commercial centre for the western part of Scania.
The total population of the urban area was 280,415 in December 2010.

Malmö is with its 300,000 inhabitants Sweden's third largest city. The city was founded at the end of the 13th century and is today south Sweden's commercial center.
Visiting Malmö has never been easier. With the bridge - Öresundsbron - between Malmö and Copenhagen (Denmark), two of northern Europe's most expansive areas are joined together.
You will find excellent shopping possibilities, several hotels, restaurants, and entertainment - all within walking distance. Only a few minutes from the city center are some of the parks which have made Malmö The City of Parks.
Malmö's rich cultural life gives you a continental city with a multicultural atmosphere well worth visiting and experiencing!
A visit to the Swedish city of Malmo
Malmo in Sweden is easy to visit when staying in Copenhagen. The new rail bridge means it is less than half an hour travel time away. So when I was in Denmark in July 2011 I did a day trip to Malmo to see the city and take a canal trip around the heart of it.

nice, the architecture is incredible, and the food rocks!
