I think Britain as a whole is suddenly become, they want to know where their food is from, where their beer is from and knowing that a local brewery down the road is sourcing their ingredients locally and it's all being made locally, it's not being transported half way around the world or around the country in big tankers�.and it's a proper British product, it's just becoming, not trendy but popular and sort of sought after, people are going out looking for real ale which hasn't happened for a lot of years.

We're finding that the ale section whereas before it was mainly the older generation visiting the ales, we are now finding that the younger population are intrigued by it. We're finding young ladies, young males going to trendy bars and are able to buy current beers, come to the store and are looking for the same products. So you now find that the ale market consists of organic products, natural products, different flavours, different tastes, like banana beers, banana ales. We have seen a dramatic increase in sales.

Lager and cask ale use the same ingredients, malted barley, hops, water and yeast. The difference between the two is at the end of the brewing process. With lager, the beer is filtered, pasteurised and then carbonated. Whereas with cask ale, we leave yeast in the bottom of the cask which means that the product itself gets a natural sparkle at the bar, it's naturally carbonated and it's got a fresher taste.

Britain has rediscovered its thirst for home-grown ales or bitters after decades of waning sales as continental-style, fizzy lagers dominated the beer market.
The changes in tastes come as consumers increasingly demand that food and drink products are locally produced.

Ep 23 Weekly Vlog of Nutshell and Aussie life on tour.
This week Wendy went to The Crick Boat Show and checked out the boats and the boaty goodies. She met up with many of the boat tubers in the main tent and shared stories of life on the water. A few days after the show she joined Ronnie and Anita at the Malt Shovel in Northampton for a delicious ale.
Magnus spent the week in the Australian Outback on the Oodnadatta Track and the Painted Desert on his extreme motorcycle tour Across Australia.
