Malta Aviation Museum (ex RAF Ta' Qali Airfield) Ta' Qali, Malta
The Malta Aviation Museum is a very popular attraction for aviation enthusiasts and is located in the former Royal Air force Station in Ta’ Qali. The museum is home to many items of historical importance, focusing mainly on World War II and the important role Malta played between 1940 and 1943.
This interesting and fine museum is run by a non-profit organisation, that continuously works hard to gather new items and expand the collection to depict the rich aviation history in Malta.
The Malta Aviation Museum holds aircraft engines, models, uniforms and the most popular items are a rebuilt Spitfire Mk IX and a Hawker Hurricane Ila. Visitors should also visit the De Havilland Tigermoth, Douglas DC3 as well as the Beechcraft 18, a De Havilland Vampire T11, a Hawker Seahawk, a Fiat G91R, a Pou Du Ciel, a Cessna Birddog, a Fairey Swordfish.

During my week stay in Malta (January 2017) I visited the Malta Aviation Museum where they have a great collection of classic planes.
From the Huey helicopter to the BAC-1-11 , Spitfire and much more.
If you visit the Island then do make sure that you visit the museum.

The crafts village in Ta’ Qali is located in the former RAF wartime air-field and is a very popular tourist attraction in Malta. Here, different kinds of crafts and beautiful artefacts are sold created by local experts. You can watch the craftsmen blowing and forming glass, visit the goldsmiths filigree and beautiful jewellery and have a look at the beautiful sculptures and lace. Visiting the Ta’ Qali crafts village during your holiday in Malta provides a perfect way to spend a day watching craftspeople at work as well as finding special souvenirs to take home for your loved ones. This attraction also has drink and food shops where you can sit back and relax after your shopping.
At Ta’ Qali you will also find the National Park, the National Stadium, a large vegetable market called Il-Pitkalija and the Malta Aviation Museum. The entrance to the crafts village is free.

The National Park, Ta' Qali , MALTA .
The National Park is a big green space in central Malta, used for several events throughout the year, Ta Qali National Park is a very popular park situated in the centre of Malta. Closeby, you will also find the National Stadium, a Crafts Village, a vegetable market and the Malta Aviation Museum. During the Second World War the Ta Qali National Park was used as an airfield and is today a very popular picnic area with plenty of space for children to roam around freely. Ta Qali National Park is very popular with Maltese people, especially families and is a very busy place on Saturday afternoons. The Adventure Park is also located at the National Park with five areas targeting kids, while the rest is dedicated to adults. The popularity and the amount of visitors contributed to the extension that was built to the park in 2009 to accommodate and attract more people. The park is also used for several activities throughout the year such as concerts and fairs.

Ta' Qali to Mtarfa on Armistice Day
Hiking from Ta' Qali to Mtarfa to attend the Military Mtarfa Exhibition that was held on the grounds of the former Royal Navy Hospital on 11th November, 2018. On the way we visit the Military Cemetery at Mtarfa and pass beneath Mdina's impressive ramparts. At Mtarfa we descend to the large wartime shelter beneath the hospital.
