Wreck of the SS Euro
The SS Euro, sunk in 1881 10-12 mile north of Beachport, South Australia. A coastal steamer, of some 360-380t and some 50 metres long she serviced the South Eastern Ports of South Australia, under lease to the Adelaide Steamship Company. She was originally built for the Port Pirie Trade, Spencer Gulf, South Australia. Approximately 70 people, All but one, made it to shore. A young lady from Mt Gambier, approximately 25 years of age lost her life due to prematurely jumping into the Ocean. She was knocked unconscious with some debris and subsequently drowned.
Lying in some 10 metres of water and broken up, I hope you enjoy this short footage of the SS Euro.

deep diving to discover Mysterious Yamashiro wreck!
deep dive down to a depth of 236m,it is one of the deepest submarine diving.deep sea divers are testing to discover something new about Yamashiro wreck!
World Ocean is still a place concealing multitudes of secrets – some of them ancient as time itself, some of them relatively new – just centuries or even dozens of years old. One of the more recent mysteries is the sinking of Yamashiro, a Japanese WWII Battleship that was sent to the bottom of Surigao Straits, Southern Philippines, by US Forces in the last major naval battle of the Second World War. Ever since, historians have been arguing about the exact location of Yamashiro’s final rest, and the 60-year old argument is still continuing. John Bennett, the former champion in deep scuba diving, made it the purpose of his life to resolve that mystery, people say that even his 1000-foot record-braking dive was aimed more at attracting enough sponsors to find the elusive battleship than at record-breaking as such. Alas, John died tragically, before he could live the dream of his life – touch the Yamashiro with his own hand.

Freediving the Kyusyu Maru Wreck | Solomon Islands | GoPro
Freediving the Kyusyu Maru wreck, a 140m Japanese Cargo Ship from WWII. The wreck is located on the north coast of Guadalcanal, Solomon Islands, around a 30 minute drive from the Honiara. She sits a 7m to 47m depth and covered in an abundance of hard corals.
Although a lot of the shallow superstructure is now removed through salvage operations, as well as damaged by earthquakes and during US target practice. Most of the the stern is still intact at around 45m.
American reports say that on the morning of 15 October 1942, US aircraft attacked three ships off Guadalcanal, sinking the Kyusyu Maru and setting two more alight. However the Japanese ships were successful in landing all the troops (between 3,000 and 4,000) and 80% of their cargo.
Kyusyu Maru was hit squarely on the bridge and our captain and other officers were all killed. However the engineers below deck didn't know that. So they put the ship on full steam till she was stranded on the beach of Guadalcanal.

Katie Barrington: A painting has a life of its own I try to let it live from the exhibition Body without organs
December 30th 2009
The University of Reading Film, Theatre and Television Department
Katie Barrington:
A promenade event curated by myself and Christian Tilt, whereby staging our work in a different environment and exposing it to new audiences was a primary focus. The event comprised a diverse arrangement of works by artists that have been directly influenced by and incorporate the subject of film,
theatre and other alternative forms in their work in dynamic ways. Conceived of as a promenade event, the audience were guided through the Film, Theatre & Television Department's main theatre spaces, as well as other adjacent rooms and corridors, in groups of twenty led by a Mistress of Ceremonies.
The film, its title a quote from Jackson Pollock, explores the creative potential of the unsaid and the unshown in abstract thought and work, in particular, the ritualistic exercise of form and the revelling without a cause that was Abstract Expressionist painting. Latent potentiality and provocative emptiness is meshed with the zombie movie genre—one that does not, in any literal sense, correspond to any known reality.
Nicholas P H Barton:
When discussing the piece in its infancy one of the key points beyond the source content but inherent to me playing the role was the ego.

Barbados Wreck Dive - S.S. STAVRONIKITA
STAVRONIKITA: The Stav is the most popular wreck in Barbados waters. She was a 365 foot Greek freighter built in Denmark in 1956 and originally christened the Ohio. On August 26, 1976, while en route from Ireland to the Caribbean and carrying a cargo of 101,000 bags of cement, the vessel caught fire, killing six crew members and injuring three others. An explosion that followed the fire destroyed all of the ship’s radio equipment, making it impossible for the stranded crew to call for help. Twenty four crewmen drifted in the open sea for four days before being rescued. The Stavronikita was then towed to Barbados.
The Stavronikita after the fire
A year went by, and the vessel was still anchored off Carlisle Bay, Barbados. On October 24, 1977 , she was purchased at an auction for the sum of $30,000 by the Parks and Beach Commission. The ship was then stripped of all the machinery and brass that could be salvaged. She was cleaned of pollutants, namely the 70,000 gallons of oil being carried in her fuel tanks and towed to a spot just 400 yards offshore on the west coast of the island. On November 21,1978, the U.S. Navy demolition crew set seven charges totaling 200 pounds and blew holes in the ship’s hull, causing her to sink.
