The Georgia State of Mind is Expansion
Pratt & Whitney's Columbus facility currently has more than 200 capital improvement projects underway. All of these capital expenditures were in motion long before the landmark February announcement of expansion at the Columbus facility. And even with so many new machines on the floor, one thing hasn’t changed – the importance of the people who operate them.
RiverCenter - Columbus, GA - Phantom 2 Vision+ - Aerial
Aerial view of the RiverCenter for the Performing Arts in Columbus, Georgia. This is part of the Columbus State University's River Park Campus.
LOCATED IN THE HEART OF HISTORIC UPTOWN COLUMBUS, RIVERCENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS IS THE CENTERPIECE OF THE CITY’S NEW ARTS AND ENTERTAINMENT DISTRICT.
Conceived as a vital cultural hub, the center was designed by the multi-national architectural firm Hardy Holzman Pfeiffer and Associates to artistically enrich the Chattahoochee Valley region. Its construction was funded in part by $86 million of the over $100 million that was raised by the Columbus Challenge, an unprecedented public-private fundraising effort that also revitalized key local cultural venues. The remainder of funding came from a $17-million state appropriation and a $25-million matching pledge from the Bradley-Turner Foundation.
A property of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, the 245,000-square-foot RiverCenter is a visually stunning blend of the past and the present, mixing the brick and ironwork of the area’s historic buildings with a modern multi-level glass and steel façade. Its spacious entrance is graced by a tall glass “curtain” wall and a soaring staircase. A sense of the building’s magnitude may be gained from contemplating some statistics: a height of 120 feet (five stories), 200 miles of wiring, 150,000 feet of conduit, six million pounds of structural steel, one million masonry blocks, 300,000 bricks, and 50 million pounds of concrete.
RiverCenter’s state-of-the-art facilities include the 2,000-seat Bill Heard Theatre, the center’s main venue and home to the Columbus Symphony Orchestra. Featuring orchestra, mezzanine and balcony seating, the hall is designed to meet the complex technical needs of attractions such as Broadway shows, symphonic concerts, dance performances, pop concerts, lectures and conferences. From the ceiling large interwoven ribbons of steel mesh contribute a sense of intimacy, while shaped balcony fascias and custom light fixtures provide color, texture and warmth.

Star or UFO, Columbus, GA on top of the roof blinking
This is a star, light, I don't know, that appears from time to time and sometimes stays for months. I though there were two of them, because around 10:30 p.m. you can see it on the North East Pole and later around 10:50 on the South Pole. But last night I was astonished, after filming this video, I lost the light; thus, I started to look upwards for it, when I suddenly spotted a shooting star falling down, and at the very moment the light, or star again appeared at a very high altitude that for a moment I thought it was an airplane, but I could distinguish clearly only one light that in a slow motion started moving to the south pole, I couldn't believe it, I was filming it, then this star or light started coming down as it was approaching nearest to my sight that I started feeling restless, it was to low on the horizon there to the South pole of my apartments this time very low to the high of a tree, it was kind of fading for a moment, that I though it was gone, when my dogs started barking badly they were very agitated, and I couldn't see the start, or light , this had dissapeared. The other video I can show however will be interested, but while I was filming and seeing it with my own eyes, in the video is only black while I was pointing up to the sky, only shows the part when it was already down very low to the side of a tree that is in front my apartments.

End Sequestration - Defend Ft. Benning, Georgia
Find out more:
Sign the petition:
Due to the Department of Defense Drawdown on October 1st the US Army will be down from 570,000 personnel to 490,000. This loss of 80,000 people is only the beginning. A follow-on cut will see Army forces further reduced to 450,000 by October 2017. By 2021, that number could drop to an unprecedented 420,000, the smallest standing Army in modern times.
Threat levels are rising around the world. Russia. China. Iran. Syria. Afghanistan. North Korea. The Islamic State.
These Army reductions are not strategic. These are forced cuts brought about by Department of Defense budgetary constrictions. Now we face another defense budget cut of some $500 Billion from Sequestration and the consequences of more budget cuts of this magnitude - at this very moment in history - could be catastrophic.
Fort Benning is one of the largest military installations in the nation.
We must keep it strong.
Please do you part to help defend the Fort.

World Premiere Wednesday - Who You Know
World Premiere Wednesday is brought to you by Derrick Hayes the enTIEtainer who asks the question Who You Know that can teach you how to get it from the floor.
“enTIEtainer” Derrick Hayes Bio:
Now Derrick Hayes has branded himself as the “enTIEtainer” since he has added new tie tying techniques to his seminars, workshops, routines and stand up encouragement sessions like tying a tie behind his back to illustrate that no matter how far behind you get your life and your season can still turn around for you.
The “enTIEtainer” teaches people about networking and building relationships by bringing two ties to together to show that if they can come together than we can also come together.
When the “enTIEtainer” Derrick Hayes heard about Hurricane Harvey in Houston, Texas he was inspired to take the socks off his feet and turn them into a bow tie live on stage to create the mindset in others that sometimes in order to do something you have never done you have to believe you can do something that you have never seen before.
The “enTIEtainer” is available to perform and uplift audiences and since he began using ties to tell stories and empower others his tie tying techniques have been seen at such events as No Shame Theatre, Current State of the Black Man (Montgomery, Alabama), Richards Middle School, B.I.L.D. Friday Night Lights, A. J. McClendon YMCA, Albany State University, Shaw High School Basketball (Awards Banquet), Shaw High School Football, Shaw High School (Wrestling Banquet), Columbus State University Basketball Team, Columbus Fall League, St. Mary's Road United Methodist Church, Reach For Your Dreams Back To School Bash, Rantoul High School Track Team (Illinois), Beechwood Baptist Church Back To School Bash (Nashville, TN), Kappa League of Columbus, Georgia, 321 Anti Bullying Rally, Andrew Adams Football Camp (College Park, Georgia), Buena Vista Recreation Football Camp, Cobb County
Upcoming Events:
August 16th, 2019 I will be performing with other artists at Furnace 41 in Jonesboro, GA and if you would like to buy a ticket to the show to support me please go to
August 19th, 2019 I will be presenting at the State of Arizona’s 2019 Annual Transition Conference, Building Success: One Transition at a Time
