We Love Malton
As a proud local business, Hunters Malton present #welovemalton, a collaborative video created alongside strong businesses in the town and surrounding areas. The video showcases why Malton is a place for everyone and why working and living there is so enjoyable and rewarding.
Stunning drone footage shows Castle Howard, Dalby Forest, Malton Rugby Club and the town centre emphasising just how spectacular Malton and its surrounding area is.
We worked with some fantastic local businesses to produce the video. Castle Howard one of the UK’s most well-known attractions and residences. The Talbot, a hotel which is the lifeblood of Malton and the centre for all that is foody. Sloemotion Gin, a proactive distillery just outside Malton and Rare Bird distillery located in the Talbot courtyard.
Malton is full of great bars and restaurants including The Talbot which has recently been refurbished to a very high standard and lovely coffee shops such as Roost based in the Talbot food court. There are sport and leisure opportunities available across the Ryedale District and the education on offer in Malton and Norton has some great OFSTED reports. Malton is a beautiful town providing the perfect place to live for people of all ages and backgrounds.
Known primarily as ‘Yorkshire’s food capital’ that brings in global visitors to the thriving Malton food festival, there is always something going on in the town and has become a place people are proud to live and work in. There are excellent transport links from the town to Scarborough, York and Leeds making it an easy, accessible location.
It has been voted “the UK’s most dog friendly town” and ‘Yorkshire’s food capital’ and it’s easy to see why in this video. #welovemalton shows why Malton is such a great place to consider moving to and we would encourage you to visit all these excellent businesses to explore the real Malton experience.
Malton Pushing For UK's Most Dog Friendly Town
Animal lovers are being urged to make Malton the UK’s most Dog Friendly Town.
The town is bidding to take the 2018 crown from existing title holders, Melton Mowbray.
Many of the town’s businesses are already dog friendly with the Talbot Hotel welcoming canine guests with in-room extras. Events are also held to support Ryedale Dog Rescue, including Malton Cookery School.

Old Malton and Malton town center.North Yorkshire in 1970
Historically the town was famous most notably for its Roman history, Charles Dickens association and its strong connection with horse-racing. In Roman times it was one of the most important settlements in the north of England with a strategically important cavalry fort. This equestrian link continues to the present day with Malton’s excellent reputation for breeding and training race horses.
Interestingly, Charles Dickens was a regular visitor to Malton and he based Scrooge’s office in A Christmas Carol on offices in Chancery Lane, which is now the Counting House museum.

Although news of the redevelopment plans gained mixed reviews, the film went down very well.

We Love Ripon
Hunters present #weloveripon, a collaborative video created alongside other small businesses that support the city of Ripon. Ripon is a small cathedral city in North Yorkshire, England. Located near Harrogate, the city is over 1,300 years old and is the third smallest city in England by population. Ripon is a well known tourist destination and is well positioned in North Yorkshire for exploring but for centuries, the city has been a popular residential area with plenty of work and schooling opportunities. In recent years the city has become a thriving independent hub for small local businesses
We worked with some fantastic and energetic local businesses to produce this video. Oliver’s Pantry is one of the most iconic cafes in the city offering a fantastic range of homemade produce served with a smile. Memorable Moments have been in the city for a few years now offering a lovely range of gifts and cards for those special moments. The Little Book shop is not little in knowledge and offer a whole host of different types of literature and if they haven’t got it, they will get it for you.
A beautiful iconic building set just off the town square, is the Workhouse museum, which offers a real life feel for the days gone by and reveals the real history of what it was like, for the not so fortunate back in the 1800s. With a classroom, a working kitchen demonstrating traditional methods of cooking which accompanies the well-tended rear kitchen garden, with traditional planting which would have been tended by the inmates at the time.
The Ripon Racecourse known as “Yorkshires Garden race course” because of its pleasant surroundings, is located just on the edge of Ripon and is well recognised as a very popular meet for local Yorkshire based owners and families.
Ripon is surrounded by beautiful open countryside and the Yorkshire dales are on your doorstep, this thriving city offers everything that both the young and old residents would enjoy.
There are independent retailers offering unusual and unique shopping with quaint traditional public houses, cosy independent restaurant’s offering all kinds of international cuisine for every palette, lively bars, a cinema, swimming pool, leisure centre and of course Ripon City Cathedral. Every Thursday Ripon is home to a very popular and diverse market with every kind of stall possible, from your local veg stall to your new handbag.
So in short why wouldn’t you want to live and work in Ripon City with excellent links to the A1 and A61 for those wishing to travel to Leeds, York and Newcastle. Take a look at #weloveripon which shows why Ripon is such a fabulous place to live and work, we look forward to meeting you very soon.

Malton Is Prepared To Taste The Magic
Now, we all know Malton's importance within the county when it comes to food and drink.
So it'll be no surprise to hear that a new festival is set to launch later this month.
Taste The Magic of Yorkshire Beer, Wine and Gin Festival will be held at the Milton Rooms on Saturday the 21st of July, an expansion of a beer festival which was organised by Horsetown Brewery last year.
But this year, McMillans of Malton are also set to take part and they told us what else is in store.
