Jyestesa temple - Kashmir has ancient temples!
Mamal Shiva Temple in Pahalgam is believed to have come into existence during the development of Himalayas. Nestled between the two Himalayan Ranges of Pir Panjal and Zanskar, Mamal Shiva Temple is said to be a witness to Neolithic age humans. It was built by King Jayasimha on the right bank of River Lidder and the temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva.
The temple is considered to be the oldest temple of Kashmir Valley dating back to 5th century. The legend says that Lord Shiva shifted his throne from Thojwara to Mamaleshwar. Mamal Shiva Temple was ruled both by the Hindu and Mughal Kings during 15th century. This temple also has sculptures that are ancient and depicts other deities. Every morning and evening hymns are sang and rituals are conducted by the Pandit of the Mamal Shiva Temple.
A visit to Mamal Shiva Temple will fill your heart with spirituality, peace and tranquility. The beauty of the surrounding Himalayas will surely captivate your heart and soul.

Beautiful NATURE PARK MANALI - HIMACHAL PRADESH (INDIA)
Are you a nature lover? If yes, you will repent if you skip a trip to this beautiful valley! Its amazing, very pristine....its the same as Himachal was decades ago. I went their with my colleagues. Its a lovely place in the lap of Himalayas.

Cooking at Nanda Devi Sanctuary during a mountain expedition
Nanda Devi National Parks & Wildlife Sanctuaries:
Nanda Devi National Park is an outstanding mountain wilderness with few if any parallels elsewhere in the Himalayas on account of its concentration of high peaks and glaciers lying within a range of near -- pristine habitats. It lies within a bio geographical transition zone between the Western and Eastern Himalayas and supports a variety of threatened and uncommon species of large mammals. Nanda Devi National Park is situated in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. The spectacular panoramas of peaks encircling the National Park are Trishul (7120 m) Dunagiri (7066 m) Nanda Devi (7817 m) Nanda Devi East (7430 m) Bethartoli (6352 m) etc.
The beautiful surroundings with abundant flora and fauna like Brahma-Kamal and Bharal (blue mountain goat) make this a sanctuary of nature. The area is reputed as one of the most spectacular wilderness in the Himalaya and is dominated by Nanda Devi Peak which is a natural monument and India's second highest peak. The Nanda Devi National Park the world heritage site has unique topography, climate, and soil and it supports diverse habitat, species, communities and ecosystems. The beautiful surroundings with abundant flora and fauna like Brahma-Kamal and Bharal (blue mountain goat) make this a sanctuary of nature.
In 1982 access to trekkers into the Nanda Devi National Park was banned to protect its biodiversity. The Nanda Devi National Park, which has been declared a world heritage site, has been partially opened recently for restricted number of tourist. The Nanda Devi basin was declared as Nanda Devi Sanctuary in 1939. An area of 630 sq. Km. was added as Nanda Devi National Park in the year 1982 which is now a part and core zone of Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve. The Park became a world heritage site in the year 1988.
The Nanda Devi Sanctuary can be divided into two parts, Inner and Outer. Together, they are surrounded by the main Sanctuary Wall, which forms a roughly square outline, with high, continuous ridges on the north, east, and south sides. On the west side, less high but still imposing ridges drop from the north and south toward the Rishi Ganga Gorge, which drains the Sanctuary towards the west. The Inner Sanctuary occupies roughly the eastern two-thirds of the total area, and contains Nanda Devi itself and the two major glaciers flanking the peak, the Uttari (north) Rishi Glacier and the Dakshni (south) Rishi Glacier. These are fed by the smaller Uttari Nanda Devi and Dakshni Nanda Devi Glaciers respectively. The first recorded entry of humans into the Inner Sanctuary was by Eric Shipton and H. W. Tilman in 1934, via the Rishi Gorge.
The Outer Sanctuary occupies the western third of the total Sanctuary, and is separated from the Inner Sanctuary by high ridges, through which flows the Rishi Ganga. It is split in two by the Rishi Ganga; on the north side lies the Ramani Glacier, flowing down from the slopes of Dunagiri and Changabang, and on the south lies the Trisul Glacier, flowing from the peak of the same name. This portion of the Sanctuary is accessible to the outside (though requiring the crossing of a 4,000 m (13,000 ft) pass). The first serious climbing expedition to pass through the Outer Sanctuary was that of T. G. Longstaff, who climbed Trisul I in 1907 via the eponymous glacier.
Some of the important peaks encircling the Nanda Devi National Park are Dunagiri, Changband, Kalnka, Rishi pahar, Mangraon, Nanda Khat, Maiktoli, Mrigthuni, Trishul-1, Trishul-II, Bethartoli Himal and Nandadevi East. Trek for the park negotiates a steep assent at high altitude zones within 13 km route from 2000 mt. at village Lata to 4250 mt. to Dharasi which is the topmost point.

Wild Deer In Nehru Zoological Park.
Wild Deer In Nehru Zoological Park.
Nehru Zoological Park (also known as Hyderabad Zoo or Zoo Park) is a zoo located near Mir Alam Tank in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. It is one of the most visited destinations in Hyderabad. Zoo hours vary by season, and the zoo is closed on Mondays.
Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad was established in vide G.O.Ms. No.247, dated 26 October 1959. It was opened to the public on 6 October 1963. The Nehru Zoological Park is run by forest department, Government of Telangana, and is named after the first prime minister of the country, Jawaharlal Nehru.
The zoo occupies 380 acres (150 ha) and is adjacent to the 600-acre (240 ha) Mir Alam Tank. Nearly 100 species of birds, animals and reptiles are housed at the zoo, including indigenous animals like the Indian rhino, Asiatic lion, Bengal tiger, panther, gaur, Indian elephant, slender loris, python, as well as deer, antelopes and birds. The 600-acre (240 ha) Mir Alam Tank with its unique multiple arched bund (embankment), attracts hundreds of migratory birds, providing yet another attraction for the zoo.
The nocturnal house at the zoo artificially reverses night and day for the animals so that nocturnal animals are active while visitors are at the zoo. This exhibit includes fruit bats, slender loris, slow loris, civets, leopard cats, hedgehogs, barn owls, mottled wood owls, fishing owls, and great horned owls. There is also an aquarium, dino park, butterfly park and tortoise house.
Deer (singular and plural) are the ruminant mammals forming the family Cervidae. Species in the family include white-tailed deer, mule deer such as black-tailed deer, elk, moose, red deer, reindeer (caribou), fallow deer, roe deer, pudú and chital. Male deer of all species (except the Chinese water deer) and female reindeer grow and shed new antlers each year. In this they differ from permanently horned animals such as antelope, which are in the same order as deer and may bear a superficial resemblance.
The musk deer of Asia and water chevrotain (or mouse deer) of tropical African and Asian forests are not usually regarded as true deer and form their own families: Moschidae and Tragulidae, respectively.
The word deer was originally broader in meaning, but became more specific over time. In Middle English, der (Old English dēor) meant a wild animal of any kind. This was as opposed to cattle, which then meant any sort of domestic livestock that was easy to collect and remove from the land, from the idea of personal-property ownership (rather than real estate property) and related to modern chattel (property) and capital. Cognates of Old English dēor in other dead Germanic languages have the general sense of animal, such as Old High German tior, Old Norse djur or dȳr, Gothic dius, Old Saxon dier, and Old Frisian diar.
This general sense gave way to the modern English sense by the end of the Middle English period, around 1500. However, all modern Germanic languages save English and Scots retain the more general sense: for example, German Tier, Alemannic Diere or Tiere, Pennsylvania Dutch Gedier, Dutch dier, Afrikaans dier, Limburgish diere, Norwegian dyr, Swedish djur, Danish dyr, Icelandic dýr, Faroese dýr, West Frisian dier, and North Frisian diarten, all of which mean animal. (However, contrary to south European languages, Dama in Latin and daim in French mean fallow deer only).
For most types of deer in modern English usage, the male is called a buck and the female is termed a doe, but the terms vary with dialect, and especially according to the size of the species. For many larger deer, the male is termed a stag, while for other larger deer the same words are used as for cattle: bull and cow. The male red deer is a hart, especially if more than five years old, and the female is a hind, especially if three or more years old; both terms can also be used for any species of deer, and were widely so used in the past. Terms for young deer vary similarly, with that of most smaller species being called a fawn and that of most larger species calf; young of the smallest kinds may be a kid. A castrated male deer is a havier. A group of deer of any kind is a herd. The adjective of relation pertaining to deer is cervine; like the family name Cervidae, this is from Latin: cervus, deer.
Venison originally described meat of any game animal killed by hunting, and was applied to any animal from the families Cervidae (deer), Leporidae (hares), and Suidae (wild pigs), and certain species of the genus Capra (goats and ibex). In the northern hemisphere, the usage of this term is now almost entirely restricted to the flesh of various species of deer.[citation needed]
In South African English, venison is used to refer to the meat of antelope. There are no native Cervidae in sub-Saharan Africa.
