Tale of Genji （源氏物語） Museum is located in Uji City （宇治市）, Japan. Uji City is about 40 minute train ride from Kyoto City.
The novel Tale of Genji or Genji Monogatari is considered as one of the classic ancient novels, written by Heian era writer Lady Murasaki Shikibu, about one thousand years ago. It is one of the most read novels both inside and outside Japan.
