Man Sagar Lake with Jal mahal palace in the middle of lake, in Rajasthan
A wonderful aerial view of Man Sagar lake and Jal Mahal palace in Jaipur, Rajasthan at sunset. In the 18th century, Maharaja Jai Singh II of Amber renovated the palace and surroundings.
Jal Mahal or water palace is considered as one of the most beautiful architectural palace that was built with the Mughal and Rajput craftsmanship. Although the fort looks flat, it actually has five levels with four being submerged under the lake. In Rajasthani tradition, royals would journey to lake palace in the summer seeking entertainment and pleasure.
The Mansagar Lake is a 300-acre lake surrounded by the Nahargarh hills. The artificial lake was formed as a result of instituting a dam across river Darbhawati during the 18th century. Water provides sustainable living to countless species of the aquatic ecosystem like fish, birds, insects, microorganisms and aquatic vegetation.

JAL MAHAL (Man Sagar Lake) - Jaipur - iNDIA
Jal Mahal Palace amidst Man Sagar Lake in Jaipur, Rajasthan
Jal Mahal: A tiny palace romantically located in the middle of the Man Sagar Lake in Jaipur city. This was supposed to be a hunting lodge for the royal family and can only be viewed from the banks of the lake. The palace and the lake around it were renovated and enlarged in the 18th century by Maharaja Jai Singh II of Amber. The Jal Mahal palace is considered an architectural beauty built in the Rajput and Mughal styles of architecture providing a picturesque view of the lake and the surrounding Nahargarh Hills.he palace, built in red sandstone, is a five storied building out of which four floors remain under water when the lake is full and the top floor is exposed. The rectangular Chhatri on the roof is of the Bengal type. The Chhatris on the four corners are octagonal. The Jal Mahal palace within the Shan Sagar lake is accessible from the Jaipiur-Delhi National Highway No 8, over a road distance of 4 kilometres from Jaipur.
Jaipur is the capital and largest city of the Indian state of Rajasthan. It was founded on 18 November 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, the ruler of Amber, after whom the city has been named. The city today has a population of 3.1 million. Jaipur is known as the Pink City of India. The city is remarkable among pre-modern Indian cities for the width and regularity of its streets which are laid out into six sectors separated by broad streets. Jaipur is a major tourist destination in India. In the 2008 Conde Nast Traveller Readers Choice Survey, Jaipur was ranked the 7th best place to visit in Asia. The Presidential Suite at the Raj Palace Hotel, billed at US$45,000 per night, is listed at number 2 on World's 15 most expensive hotel suites complied by CNN Go in 2012.
The urban quarters in the city are further divided by networks of gridded streets. Five quarters wrap around the east, south, and west sides of a central palace quarter, with a sixth quarter immediately to the east. The Palace quarter encloses the sprawling Hawa Mahal palace complex, formal gardens, and a small lake. Nahargarh Fort, which was the residence of the King Sawai Jai Singh II, crowns the hill in the northwest corner of the old city. The observatory, Jantar Mantar, is one of the World Heritage Sites. Included on the Golden Triangle tourist circuit, along with Delhi and Agra, Jaipur is an extremely popular tourist destination in Rajasthan and India. The 2012 British comedy-drama film, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel was set and filmed in Jaipur.
Jaipur has a number of important cultural sites. Cultural centres like Jawahar Kala Kendra and Ravindra Manch have helped promote the culture of the state of Rajasthan. Albert Hall Museum (Government Central Museum) hosts several arts and antiquities. There is a government museum at Hawa Mahal and an art gallery at Viratnagar. The Town Hall (Old Vidhan Sabha Bhawan) is proposed to be converted into a museum. There are statues depicting Rajasthani culture around the city.

Man Sagar Lake and Jal Mahal Palace, Jaipur: stunning aerial view
An aerial view of the beautiful Man Sagar Lake and Jal Mahal Palace.
Lake Man Sagar (Mansagar) is an artificial lake to the north of Jaipur in which the stunning Jal Mahal Palace stands. Lake Mansagar has undergone an amazing transformation over the last 5 years, where once it was a dirty and polluted sewage overspill for Jaipur today the lake is teeming with life and migratory birds are now returning to the fresh waters. The area surrounding Man Sagar Lake is starting to become popular with both Jaipur’s residents and visitors as the cooling waters and wildlife are a refreshing break from the pollution and dust of the city. Most travellers experience of Lake Man Sagar is the brief stop to photograph the Jal Mahal but a rewarding afternoon can be spent by the cooling waters of the lake. The Jal Mahal literally means the “Water Palace”, but when it was built, Maharaja Madho Singh I did not intend to use it as a palace. Instead, it was supposed to be a hunting lodge for the king and his entourage during their duck hunting trips.

JALMAHAL JAIPUR || Man Sagar Lake || a trip to most beautiful Jalmahal place of jaipur
Wikipedia :-
Jal Mahal (meaning Water Palace) is a palace in the middle of the Man Sagar Lake in Jaipur city, the capital of the state of Rajasthan, India. The palace and the lake around it were renovated and enlarged in the 18th century by Maharaja Jai Singh II of Amber.
The Jal Mahal palace is an architectural showcase of the Rajput style of architecture (common in Rajasthan) on a grand scale. The building has a picturesque view of the lake itself but owing to its seclusion from land is equally the focus of a viewpoint from the Man Sagar Dam on the eastern side of the lake in front of the backdrop of the surrounding Nahargarh (tiger-abode) hills. The palace, built-in red sandstone, is a five storied building, of which four floors remain underwater when the lake is full and the top floor is exposed.[1] One rectangular Chhatri on the roof is of the Bengal type. The chhatris on the four corners are octagonal. The palace had suffered subsidence in the past and also partial seepage (plasterwork and wall damage equivalent to rising damp) because of waterlogging, which have been repaired under a restoration project of the Government of Rajasthan.[2]

Jal Mahal (meaning Water Palace) is a palace located in the middle of the Man Sagar Lake in Jaipur city, the capital of the state of Rajasthan, India. The palace and the lake around it were renovated and enlarged in the 18th century by Maharaja Jai Singh II of Amber.
The Jal Mahal palace within the Maan Sagar Lake is accessible from the Jaipur-Delhi National Highway No 8, over a road distance of 4 kilometres (2.5 mi)) from Jaipur. Delhi is a further 273 kilometres (170 mi)) away.[4] Jaipur city being centrally located in Rajasthan, the National Highway No.8 not only links to Delhi but also to Mumbai. NH No.11 is a road link of 366 kilometres (227 mi)) from Bikaner to Agra via Jaipur. The lake is 8 kilometres (5.0 mi)) from Amer palace on the Amber – Man Sagar Dam road to the north. The Jal Mahal palace is not open to visitors.[12][15] But it was open to delegates at large on the occasion of Pravasi Bhartiya Divas held from 7–9 January 2012 in Jaipur with the purpose of attracting investment for the restoration of the palace.
Jal Mahal surrounded by the Man Sagar Lake
Beautiful Jal Mahal palace in the middle of Man Sagar Lake in Jaipur.
The Jal Mahal palace has got an eye-popping makeover. Traditional boat-makers from Vrindavan have crafted the Rajput style wooden boats. A gentle splashing of oars on the clear lake waters takes you to Jal Mahal. You move past decorated hallways and chambers on the first floor to climb all the way up to the fragrant Chameli Bagh. Across the lake, you can view the Aravalli hills, dotted with temples and ancient forts, and on the other side, bustling Jaipur. The most remarkable change is in the lake itself. The drains were diverted, two million tonnes of toxic silt were dredged from the bottom, increasing its depth by over a metre, a water treatment system was developed, local vegetation and fish reintroduced, the surrounding wetlands regenerated and five nesting islands created to attract migratory birds.
