The island suffered the loss of all businesses , many homes and boats were destroyed but miraculously, and most importantly no deaths were reported nor anyone was severely injured.
Yachts and Boats destroyed by Hurricane Dorian in Manowar Car, Abacos, The Bahamas
A tour of Manowar Harbour, Abacos the Bahamas, after Hurricane Dorian devasted the area. It appears not a boat was left undamaged in some way. Sunken boats in the harbour, many boats over turned, and up on the hard, 40-50 foot catamarans turtled. A 6 ton concrete mooring along with boat, tossed up in the mangroves. A 100 ton barge along with its 44 for excavator over turned. Fred the pig washed up from Piggie Ville 10 miles away and found a new home at Manowar.
If you would like to volunteer a week of your time to help the people of Manowar, let me know, we can help put you in touch with the right people.
If you like to make a donation, our Gofundme page is still up, and we will make sure the funds are used to continue to help the people of the Bahamas.

Tour of Manowar Cay After Hurricane Dorian
After delivering our relief supplies and attending to our boat, we met up with Charmain our coordinator on Manowar, she gave us a tour of Manowar, it was heart breaking to see the devastation. But thankful that no lives were lost on MOW. It was encourging to see the locals come together, along with many volunteers from the US, Canada and other countries. We did not see a sad face on the island, everyone was upbeat and encouraged to rebuild. Much progress is happening.
Much thanks must be given to the Samaritan's Purse, they are funding building supplies, volunteers expenses, flights and food to help in the repair and rebuild in the Abacos, Marsh Harbour, Manowar to name a few, along with a hospital in Freeport. They are also hiring locals to help in the effort, giving them encouragement, and stimulating the local economy, therby, ecouraging landlords and proprietors to rebuild the Abacos and Grand Bahamas. They have promised to stay as long as they are needed.
Please Donate to The Samaritan's Purse, it is a worth charity, 90% of all funds go directly to the humanitrian efforts.

See our home on HomeAway - Hartswell, Bahamas
New to the rental market! On the North side of the island with great breeze and Boat access to amazing water and beaches. Guide your rented boat to deserted Moriah Cay, Chat and Chill, Starfish beach, Lunch at Peace and Plenty.
Landfall Exuma is a beautiful 3 bedroom, 2 story, waterfront home in Moriah Harbour on the island of Great Exuma. The house is located on the very quiet far east end of the island, one mile away from the Little Exuma bridge. It is a perfect place for families or traveling couples to have Exuma adventures.
Extensively remodeled in 2017, Landfall was constructed in a traditional Caribbean style. The open floor plan allows the Bahamian heat to rise from the rooms and flow into the gorgeous vented Cupola. Littered with unique hand made items, from the front shutters to the dinning room table, you will feel right at home during your stay.
Whats the best part about Landfall?
Location, location, location. Whether you like to rent a boat, paddle board, or kayak to a deserted beach when you visit its all about the water.
Landfall is situated about a 8 min kayak or 1 min boat ride from Moriah Cay and some of the most beautiful and isolated beaches in Exuma. Moriah Cay, a protected national park, and Man O War cay are easily visited from your private dock. Rent a boat for the week and explore all the gorgeous blue water for miles. Spend the day hiking stocking island, go bone fishing 100 meters away, or find a deserted beach to play on all day. Landfall is the perfect base to really explore both Elizabeth and Moriah Harbour's.
Another benefit is the location of Landfall on Great Exuma. Located about 10 minutes East of Georgetown and off Queen's Highway; Landfall is a very quiet place to rest and recover. The house is in a quiet neighborhood of 4 other waterfront houses and has 2 single kayaks and 2 10 ft paddleboards. Additionally we have plenty of games, puzzles, WiFi, and Satellitte TV for one of our two brand new 48in TV's. Landfall boasts two living rooms so kids can watch a movie in one room and adults can have a quiet evening in the other living room.
There are two outdoor seating areas. The deck has beautiful views of Moriah Harbour where the cool breeze makes it a great place to eat lunch or dinner. The patio outside the master bedroom has an umbrella and brand new seating that make for a great place to watch the guests play in the water.
The master bedroom has a king and is downstairs with a beautiful view of the water, the second king bedroom is upstairs with the twin bedroom, and one bedroom with two twin beds.

Bring your snorkeling gear and snorkel right off the dock.
Bonefishing - within 100 meters. Or go out with a guide.

5th Generation Albury / Rebuilding After Hurricane Dorian, Man O War Cay, Abacos, The Bahamas
Rebuilding after Hurricane Dorian, Man O War Cay, Abaco, The Bahamas
If you are visiting the Bahamas you must check out Man O War Cay close to Abaco and Marsh Harbor. An Island of great heritage and historic significance that has many hidden gems to be discovered. Home to a very small population, this island is rich in history and residents that will make you feel like family.
I was fortunate enough to stay a week and assist in rebuilding efforts after Hurricane Dorian 2019. I was able to not only meet Arelia Albury ; a 77 year old fifth generation Albury, but assisted in Re-Roofing her home after Hurricane Dorian. She was gracious enough to allow me to interview her on both her family and the islands history as handed down to her through the generations. I encourage you to make this a destination in your travels and ask to meet Arelia. Everyone knows her and will gladly direct you where to find her.

Man of War Cay - Sandbar Exuma Bahamas. VERY NICE WORLD.
Hurricane Dorian, Bahamas Relief Mission to Manowar Abacos, 1 of 3.
This is the first episode of our Mission to the Bahamas with Relief supplies. Due to various logistical constraints, we were not able to stop in Grand Bahamas or see the people in our original video of our departure, when we relocated Black Diamond just before Hurrican Dorian.
We had kept the boat many seasons in Manowar, Abacos, an area most effected by Hurrican Dorian. We decided to return here with relief supplies for the island. Manowar is a small island less than a mile wide, and a few miles long, with only 300 people living here. A couple of guys with a small boat, at least here we are able to make a bit of an impact here.
We had corrdinated with an island resident, who is well connected to the local people, a school teacher on the island and involved with the rebuild work that is on going.
What we had brought, might seem strange and bit out of place, regular relief supplies are being handled by larger organizations, such as equipment, generators, fuel, water and food, these are items we can't transport on our small boat, so we asked for a list of items that were small, but important, needed and valueable that we could transport, that they are not necessarily getting from regular sources.
With GOFUNDME: We raised about $5,000 CAD dollars, or about $3,750 USD, All these funds were used for relief supplies, such as medicines, supplies, school supplies, and supplies to assit the volunteers working on the island. No Gofundme funds were used for the Church supplies.
Captain Ed's local Church in Canada, also donated $5,000 CAD or about $3,750 USD, These funds were used to help the Church in Manowar, They specifically asked if their Hynm books could be replaced, Bibles and the Audio Visual Equipment for the Church. We were able to have enough funds to do this.
The American Bible Society, Donated 100 Bibles, and no funds were used for those, we transported them at our own cost.
Abeka also donated the Abeka school books, and some funds were used to purchase some additional ones.
All expenses for the voyage, our flights, boat expenses, our own personal expenses, were paid for by our own funds, both Paul and I did also donate funds to supplement the donations, in total close to $13,000 CAD or $10,000 USD was brought, that would be more than we collected. I will post a final accurate accounting, once I have the time gather and add up and organize all the reciepts.
Our Gofundme page link below, is still growing, and its not too late to donate, as we will be making additional trips back, any further donations will be used to bring more items or as cash donations.

Marsh Harbour Tour after Dorian
After our mission to Manowar, we took Grant Albury's Ferry to Marsh Harbour, through the Boat Harbour, this use to be a scenic route of beautiful vacation homes, now turned to ruble. We hitch a ride through Marsh Harbour with a lovely couple who volunteer a few months of their time to help out. Here you will see where the well known places use to be such as The Conch Inn and Marina, Moorings, SunSail and Dream yachts bases which are no longer, Dive Abacos and famous Snappas Restaurant. Then we take a drive through town to the airport. Very sad to see all the devastation.
But heart warming to see what the Samaritan's Purse is doing! They have operations all over Abacos and Grand Bahamas, a hospital in Freeport, rebuilding in the cays such as Manoware Cay, and in Marsh Harbour, hiring locals and injecting capital into the local economy. They promised to stay until the work is done, unlike many other organizations.
Please Donate to The Samaritan's Purse, it is a worth charity, 90% of all funds go directly to the humanitrian efforts.
