Mandalay Central Railway Station / မန္တလေး ဘူတာကြီ is located in downtown Mandalay and is one of the largest rail stations in Myanmar. The station is Upper Myanmar's gateway to the 3,126-mile (5,031 km) national rail network. Kachin Life Stories: Scenes from Our Lives.
Scenes from Our Lives are short film clips of a moment in the everyday life of ordinary Kachin people. These shorts come in the form of disconnected 30, 60, 90 or 120 seconds film shorts. We call these guerillashorts, a term coined by Dr Stan BH Tan-Tangbau. On its own, it is most mundane. But when we put thousands of these clips together, it tells of the complexity of our simple, everyday life.

Myanmar Sleeper Train from Mandalay to Yangon
Follow Us as we share with you a highlight of our Myanmar adventure - taking the sleeper train operated by Myanmar Railways!
Upon checking out of our transit hotel, Hotel Marvel, we proceeded to Platform 1 at the Mandalay train station just below our hotel. The friendly hotel bellboy was nice enough to help porter our bags to the platform. Really appreciate that warm gesture.
Our journey on Sleeper Train Number 4 to Yangon from Mandalay took us about 18 hours. The normal duration was about 16 hours. However, the train we took was delayed by about 2 hours.
We booked ourselves 2 bunk beds in the sleeper cabin with the assistance of a local tour agency. We made a special request for the agency to help us secure the one and only sleeper cabin with 2 bunk beds, for the convenience of vlogging. (The rest of the sleeper cabins have 4 bunk beds.)
The journey en-route was an interesting, albeit a rather bumpy one. We were treated with many scenes of country life in Myanmar. Farmers ploughing their plots with the aid of water buffalos, children playing in the river, locals looking forlorn as they sat at the train station waiting for their loved ones perhaps, enterprising locals peddling food and other necessities as our train made pit-stops at various stations en-route, and so much more!
It was all in all an interesting journey, which helped shed some light on the way of life in the countryside of this wonderful country. Though tiring, we enjoyed the train ride very much.
Would you consider getting on board a train operated by Myanmar Railways as your preferred mode of commute across the country? Let us know what you think in the comments section below! :D

Mandalay, Myanmar, Feb 2017
The second leg of our trip around burma last Feb: Mandalay.
From Bagan, we took an upstream, 12-hr river cruise on the irrawady River and arrived at Mandalay after sunset. After spending the next two days seeing what the city and its surroundings had to offer, we hopped on a bus headed to Inle Lake.

Exploring Mandalay in One Day // Myanmar // Dec.-7-2018
The aim is to explore the city to its best in One Day.
Mandalay is quite a Touristy Place however, the Sunrise & Sunsets are with amazing views at certain locations. At the same time there is not much to explore from a Bagpacker's Point of view.
Here are Few Guidelines to plan your day :
1. Find a guest house near Railway Station (Bag-packers Area)
2. Plan your railway journey towards North and book your tickets in advance for next day. Train leaves 4 am Local time. Be Ready
3. Mandalay Hill (One can Walk as well)
4. Near by Mandalay Hill, free entry in Pagodas
5. Sunset at Ubin Bridge
I hope you enjoyed the Video. Don't Forget to Give it a Thumps Up

MANDALAY TO YANGON BY TRAIN | WHAT MYANMAR TRAINS ARE ACTUALLY LIKE (PART 2)
Thinking of getting the train from Mandalay to Yangon? Well, this is what Myanmar trains are really like. If you think it's like the trains in Thailand then you're in for a shock.
This journey is not for the faint of heart, for those that don't like bugs or don't like feeling like they haven't had a shower in 2 years! Anyway, it was an incredible experience to say the least, once in a lifetime experience and maybe one day I'll do it again, but for now I'll leave it to you decide if you do it or not!
Enjoy!
