Mangere mountain/domain, Auckland, long version
Mangere mountain, Auckland
July is the middle of winter. In Auckland we don't have snow however we have a lot of rain. So it was really wet in the morning. We visited Mangere mountain and went to the top of the mountain, despite the tracks being muddy and slippery. We saw great views of the city. The Mangere mountains has 2 volcanic craters. They last erupted about 18000 years ago.
The follow information is a copy from the website
Mangere Mountain in Mangere Domain is one of the largest volcanic cones in the Auckland volcanic field, with a peak 106 metres above sea level. It offers spectacular panoramic views of Auckland from its location in the suburb of Mangere.
The volcano features two large craters. It has a wide crater with a lava dome near its centre, a feature shared by no other volcano in Auckland. It last erupted approximately 18,000 years ago.
The mountain is one of the largest and best preserved of Auckland's volcanic cones. Many archaeological features remain, including kumara pits, garden terraces, walled garden mounds and stone boundary walls.
Near the mountain to the southwest is Mangere Lagoon, filling another volcanic crater.

Ambury regional park, Auckland
和农场动物亲密接触, 奥克兰农场公园
It was early spring we visited Ambury Regional Park again, and wanted to see new born farm animals.
The following information is a copy from the website
Nestled on the shore of the Manukau Harbour, Ambury Regional Park is a working farm, an important education centre and a birdwatchers paradise with a volcanic history - all just 15km from central Auckland.
The park sits on ash-covered lava flows from Mangere Mountain and has views across the harbour to the Manukau Heads and Waitakere Ranges. It takes its name from the Ambury Milk Company, which milked cows and ran a town milk supply farm here from 1893-1965. Free to wander through the park but please leave gates as you find them.
The farm animals at Ambury are family favourites. You will see sheep, goats, cows, pigs, pet lambs (in spring), a horse, chickens, turkeys, rabbits and peacocks. Grassy lanes between the animal enclosures help you get up close to the animals safely.

Auckland, New Zealand: the City Rail Link on TV5 Monde
In the show “Destination Francophonie”, TV5 Monde is broadcasting a report about Auckland and issues of mobility and multiculturalism in the city. In the spotlight this week is the City Rail Link (CRL) project on which Soletanche Bachy is working, through the group's Major Projects division and its local subsidiary March Construction as part of a joint venture with Downer NZ.
Light rail to airport and Mangere
Take a look at how light rail from the CBD to the aiport and Mangere would work.

Auckland City, New Zealand a Billion Dollar Transformation Plan
Auckland's central population has doubled to 50,000 and it's time to change the city's focus.
????↓↓↓ Click SHOW MORE to learn the rest ↓↓↓ ????
Shane Jones fumes at 'Soviet' Ports of Auckland waterfront carpark. No funds for a waterfront stadium in Auckland Council's budget.
We've got to turn this city into a city that's focused on people not cars, he told Newshub Nation on Saturday.
The changes would see Quay Street turn into a waterfront boulevard with new bus stops and a downtown park by the Ferry Building.
Lower Queen Street outside Britomart will become a civic square - catering to the 50 per cent increase in foot traffic since 2012.
But not everyone is a fan of the focus on pedestrians over vehicles.
If you want a whole lot of people, who go shopping, to not come to the CBD then make it car-free, said National Infrastructure Spokesperson Judith Collins.
The biggest changes are being driven by upcoming America's Cup - which MBIE estimates could boost New Zealand’s economy by more than $600 million.
The changes would see the Viaduct becoming more pedestrian friendly and a new bridge replacing the crossing toward Wynyard Quarter.
In September, the Environment Court approved wharf extensions for America's Cup village and several bases, to be built in time for the 2021 event.
The industrial buildings that currently occupy Wynyard Quarter would make way for new apartments, while the tank farm on Wynyard Point would be replaced with more housing, office space and parkland.
That parkland would create a green link between the waterfront and Victoria Park, and then on to Albert Park in the City Centre thanks to the transformation of Victoria Street into a Linear Park.
But the green link won't stop at Albert Park if developer Bill Reid gets his way.
For the past 30 years he has championed the construction of Te Ara Tomo - The Subterranean City, which would open up the old air-raid tunnels under the park, dug to shelter Aucklanders during World War Two.
Two elevator portals at Princes Street and Symonds Street will connect students to AUT and the University of Auckland.
In the other tunnels, there are plans for cafes, wine and cheese boutiques, a museum, and even a glow-worm cave.
Reid says the construction will be privately funded, with users paying a toll to pass through.
The tunnels are not officially recognised by Council planners yet but are expected to be included in the updated City Centre Masterplan.
The tunnels will make it easier for cyclists and pedestrians coming from Parnell to access the City Rail Link, set to be opened by 2024.
The underground rail loop will see the addition of Aotea Station and Karangahape Station and a major upgrade of Mount Eden Station.
The City Rail Link will also transform Britomart from a dead-end to a through station, more than doubling the number of trains able to use the rail network.

Mount Wellington Summit - Auckland Mountains ???????????? New Zealand
Mount Wellington is a suburb in East Auckland, New Zealand, located 10 kilometres southeast of the city centre. It is surrounded by the suburbs of Stonefields, Tamaki, Panmure, Penrose, and Ellerslie, and by the Tamaki River. The suburb is named after the volcanic peak of Maungarei / Mount Wellington. Sylvia Park is a large business park and shopping centre located in the suburb.
Kohekohe church, Awhitu, Auckland
Kohekohe church, Awhitu, Auckland
In the early October, we went to the small town Waiuku, and explored the popular places in this region, such as Manukau Heads Lighthouse, and Awhitu regional park.
On the way to the Lighthouse, we saw this historical Kohekohe church, as this church had been sold to the private owner, we only filmed outside the fence.
I found one article from the website regarding the story of this church
It is an iconic sort of building and New Zealand has pulled down so many of its buildings, says Patsy, who bought the church in September 2012 with business partner and fellow teacher, Antonella Coppolino. In those four years Patsy has learned that the church was built during the Tarawera eruptions in 1886. Papers Past noted the builders were high enough up to see this glow in the sky and to hear the rumble.
It was used as a Presbyterian church, until decommissioned in 1976. Outside is a memorial to the church's worshippers.
The church, I think, has always been on that plot of land, she says. Some people used to walk across to that church across a lot of paddocks. People who went there when they were young, and I am talking about people now in their 70s and 80s, think that the church has been moved but, actually, the road has been changed.
When Patsy and Antonella bought the church, it had been unused for 35 years.
