SABANG Underground River FAIL| Palawan, Philippines (WeWillNomad)
Both a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature, the Underground River is possibly the most famous tourist destination in Palawan. Most people visit the Underground River through an organised tour from Puerto Princesa but we figured it might be better to make our own way to the town and overnight there to get an early morning headstart before the tour groups arrive. As we were travelling from San Vicente, there was no formal transportation option and we took a shared van to a junction point close to Puerto Princes, from where we had to wait around and haggle our way onto another van. Unfortunately, our efforts were unrewarded as a recent typhoon close to Palawan had an adverse effect on the conditions and all trips into the Underground River system was suspended....
You will find more details on what to see and do in the area on our blog:

Our Trek to the Olanguan Waterfalls - Uncontained Life Impressions
Langogan, Palawan, Philippines
What better way to get off the beaten path than to go even more off the beaten path to the hidden waterfalls in Palawan?
We were in Langogan on the island of Palawan in the Philippines and the owner of our accommodations, our host, had suggested a day trip to the waterfalls.
Unless you know how to get there, it is difficult to find and even more difficult to reach...which meant that we had to say yes!
Our guide was a young, entrepreneur from France who had come to Langogan to help take care of the eco resort where we were staying while he learned how to cultivate mushrooms.
We took a short journey to an unmarked trailhead and a one-hour hike into the jungle. Most of the hike took us alongside a river. Part of the trail was obvious, other parts were guesswork. We scrambled over boulders, cut through bamboo forests, waded in shallow pools, and had to push our way waist-deep against a strong current.
We finally arrived at our destination. Olanguan Falls.
The waterfall has a giant pool. There is great place to jump from the side of the falls into the deep pool. There is also a twenty-foot rock to jump off of (if you are brave enough to climb).
If you want to relax, the shallow end of the pool has barely a foot of water and is a great place to stay cool while being treated to an all-natural spa fish treatment.
The best part was that we were the only people at the Olanguan Falls. There is something to be said about getting off the beaten path.
Beach Lot For Sale at Purao Island, Roxas, Palawan
Code: PVT2018-0352
DETAILS
________
Lot Area: 57,268 sqm
Price: 75 Million (Negotiable)
ABOUT
_______
The province of Palawan is rapidly emerging as one of the premier ecotourism destinations in the Philippines.
Undoubtedly, its tourism potential is beefed-up by the presence of the world famous Saint Paul Subterranean River (Underground River) in Puerto Princesa City - one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature, the Tubbataha Reef off the coast of Cagayancillo and the world-class resorts in El Nido and Coron.
Most of these places are located in the north. To get to these places, you have to pass through Roxas-the gateway municipality towards northern Palawan. It is right here where Purao Island is located.
Further, the municipality of Roxas is an hour drive to the municipality of San Vicente- dubbed as the next Boracay in Palawan-where an airport is due for completion to accommodate the influx of tourists that are expected to visit this township. With these developments Purao Island in Roxas is ideal for a high-end resort development and could be packaged as one of the premier island-resort destinations in northern Palawan.
Location and accessibility:
The island paradise is situated in the municipality of Roxas 138 kilometers north of Puerto Princesa City, the provincial capital. Travel time to Roxas from the city takes about two hours in a well-paved concrete road. From Roxas town center, a 20-minute leisurely boat cruise takes you to the island.
Natural Characteristics:
The middle portion of the island is planted with coconuts. Natural vegetation in the island consists of native palms and a thin patch of mangrove trees. A shallow-dug well provided fresh water in the island.
Area:
The approximately six hectares titled property is border-lined by unabated stretch of white sandy beach made more defined by the turquoise-blue waters surrounding it.
Its immediate marine environ is a natural habitat for reef fishes, clams and stingrays. Its natural unspoiled beauty made it ideal for snorkeling and shallow-water diving.
A haven for those who wanted to commune with Mother Nature. It is paradise for the aquatic life enthusiasts.
