Loggerhead Sea Turtle hatchlings, Highland Beach, FL July 2013
Loggerhead sea turtle nest excavation with Highland Beach volunteer Patti Hansen and helpers. Three days after the nest hatched, the nest was excavated and egg shells counted. 16 baby turtles were found and later delivered to Gumbo Limbo Nature Center for rest and relaxation (i.e. observation) and then released into the ocean.
