This video is about Mapledurham House.
This aerial video is of the 12th century Mapledurham House situated on the Oxfordshire bank of the River Thames in Oxfordshire. Across the river is Berkshire and the county town of Reading. Upstream is Pangbourne and downstream is Caversham. Mapledurham is open to the public and well worth a visit. The Water Mill still produces commercial stone ground flour!

Mapledurham Mill 02 - Mid Construction
Mapledurham Mill - Second movie in a set of four produced to show the differnt phases of the project. Produced from 3D Laser Scanned data, this movie shows the Mill as proposed mid construction.
15thC Building utilising 21stC Technology
Mentioned in the Domesday Book, at its heart, Mapledurham Mill is a fifteenth century timber framed working mill, in fact, it is the last working corn and grist mill on the River Thames. WLSL utilised the latest 3D Laser Scanning Technology on the project.
Early Electricity Generation
In the early 20th century, its owners, Mapledurham Estate, were pioneers in electricity generation, and installed a water powered turbine within an extension to the mill. This became redundant within a few years when mains electricity was supplied to the estate.
Archimedes Screw Turbine
Now, in the 21st century, the Estate has commissioning a replacement system using the latest Archimedean Screw technology by Mann Power Consulting Ltd to produce the electrical power.
Laser Scan 3D Point Cloud
WLSL were commissioned to undertake extensive laser scanning of the exterior and interior of the mill and its contents, including the extension with the old redundant generating machinery. Fully unified and registered point clouds were produced.
Sets of Dwgs, and Related Movies
From the point clouds, WLSL produced over 30 drawings in 4 sets: 'As Existing'; 'Proposed Demolition'; 'Post Demolition -- Screw Added' and 'Proposed Building Design', to illustrate the phases of partial demolition, construction and installation of the Archimedes Screw. Additionally we produced animated movies showing the construction phases.

We took a winter tour of the tiny village of Mapledurham in December 2013. Everything was shut up but this is what we saw.

Mapledurham Watermill/UK - Entrando na capa do primeiro álbum do Black Sabbath! (Parte 8)
E eu realmente me senti dentro da capa do primeiro álbum do Black Sabbath. Uma pequena homenagem do Canal Façamala aos 50 anos do estilo musical que atravessa gerações. Vida longa ao Heavy Metal!
