Maplewood Flats in North Vancouver is a 310 acre conservation area managed by the Wild Bird Trust of B.C. It is a peaceful birding, nature observation and walking area, with over 3 km of trails lining a beautiful and peaceful tidal marsh.

Maplewood Flats in North Vancouver, BC is a wildlife sanctuary on Burrard Inlet. Many species use the sanctuary as home or stopover. The site of the sanctuary is reclaimed from use as a debris dump during the building of Vancouver. A channel over which the bridge crosses was at one time used for barging debris into the area. Despite its base of debris much work has been done to beautify and reclaim the land and wildlife makes much use of the area. There are Purple Martin houses on the offshore pilings. Ospreys, shorebirds and seabirds can be viewed and songbirds are seen in the forested areas. Wild Bird Trust oversees and monitorsthe reclamation of the sanctuary.
