Pir Sohawa (ٗپیر سوہاوہ) is a rapidly developing tourist resort located 9 kilometers from Islamabad on top of Margalla Hills in Himalayas. It has more than 3000 ft elevation.
Monal Restaurant is located here which is highly popular amongst the residents of twin cities. It’s cuisine and spectacular views of Islamabad from its terraces are awe inspiring.
Several trails also lead to Pir Sohawa; trail 3, 5 and 6 being most popular. It’s a very popular tourist attraction of the cabpital city.
On 6 January 2012, after almost six years, Pir Sohawa, the city’s highest tourist spot, received few inches of snowfall as well.

Daman-e-Koh is a beautiful place which is 3000 feet higher from sea level and it’s almost 1000 feet above from the town of Koh-e-Islamabad. Daman-e-Koh is a main hub for tourists it's located on the top point of Margalla Hills at an altitude of about 5000ft. Many people come from all over the Pakistan and around the world to see this beautiful place. You can also see here a bird-eye view of Capital City Islamabad.

Margalla Hills Islamabad
The Margalla Hills is a hill range part of the foothills Himalayas located within the Margalla Hills National Park, north of Islamabad, Pakistan. Margalla Range has an area of 12,605 hectares. The hills are a part of Murree hills. It is a range with many valleys as well as high mountains.
Two different legends describe the origin of the word 'Margalla'. According to the first legend, these hills have always been known as an abode of snakes. Mar means 'snake' in Pashto and Persian galla means 'herd', therefore Margalla means a place with a lot of snakes.
According to the second legend, the word 'Margalla' was derived from Mar Galla, meaning 'to strangulate'. Mar means 'hit' and Galla means 'neck'. It is believed that there were lots of bandits and robbers who used these hills as a sanctuary and would strangle travelers in order to rob them. It has also been suggested that the name derived from Mārĩkalā, the Persian equivalent of Takshaśilã (Taxila)
