Mount Pleasant Winery in Hunter Valley: Custodians of a Legacy in Wine
The story of Mount Pleasant in the Hunter Valley was created by the light of gas lantern in 1921 by Maurice O'Shea, who is now recognised as a founding father of the modern Australian wine industry and a master winemaker.
He was not afforded the luxury of electricity and equipped with only the basic tools of a petrol driven crusher, hand pumps, an old basket press and a concrete tank, O'Shea set to work creating wines of a quality never before seen. Today, more than 90 years on, Mount Pleasant guard his legacy with pride, continuing to produce wines of excellence and innovation. The equipment and winemakers may have changed, but the philosophy remains the same.

The world's tallest building, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, has the world's highest windows. Dallas joins the team whose heart-stopping job it is to clean them.
Supersized Earth traces the spectacular story of how humans have transformed our world in a generation. In this awe-inspiring three-part series, Dallas Campbell travels the globe, visiting the world's largest and most ambitious engineering projects, exploring the power of human ingenuity and the making of the modern world.
In this episode, Dallas explores how we have been redesigning the planet as we build ever more astonishing places to live. In Dubai, he climbs to the very top of the world's tallest building - over half a mile above the desert sand - to help clean the highest windows in the world; and he explores how desert wastelands have been transformed into bristling forests of skyscrapers as we've conquered the sky and turned it into a place we can call home.
In China, the rate of change is accelerating as millions move into the cities; to keep pace, they have learned to erect 30-storey buildings in under three weeks. The world is changing underneath our feet too; Dallas dives beneath Mexico City with one of the two-man team whose unenviable job it is to keep the city sewers flowing, before examining a very new-world solution to this age-old problem.

I’m choked up
Feels like my life is in a rut
All I own is this fifth of royal
Blank looks down at the soil
Never did I stop to think about
All the doubt I built within myself
But why should I
Tell me how my life became so fucked
So bury me
These walls are closing in on me
While I’m just trying to get some sleep
These days are like a bad dream
Won’t someone please come and wake me
A broken compass cloudy day
No sun or stars to guide my way
This rut gets deeper each step I take
All that’s left is a note I wrote
Dear me
Please save me
From the shadow I once was
Before the concrete filled my blood
As I pace this damn apartment screaming out
Looking for an answer please just tell me now
Without you there will be no guidance
No one else that can defy me
Soak these walls in syphoned gasoline
These walls are closing in on me
While I’m just trying to get some sleep
These days are like a bad dream
Won’t someone please come and wake me
A broken compass cloudy day
No sun or stars to guide my way
This rut gets deeper each step I take
All that’s left is a note I wrote
Dear me
I’m at the point of no return the ice is thin
Throw me a line before I fall I’m caving in
I’m yearning for a swan dive to the asphalt
But these cuffs I’ve placed upon my wrists
Just keeps me from fucking losing it
These walls are closing in on me
While I’m just trying to get some sleep
These days are like a bad dream
Won’t someone please come and wake me
A broken compass cloudy day
No sun or stars to guide my way
This rut gets deeper each step I take
All that’s left is a note I wrote
Dear me

How to Unlock a Bathroom / Bedroom Door Under 5 Seconds!
#unlockbathroomdoor #doorlock #diyforknuckleheads
How to unlock a bathroom / bedroom door that has a privacy door handle set installed. Have you ever been in that situation where you have accidently locked yourself out of your bathroom or bedroom, or your toddler has accidently locked themselves in the bathroom / bedroom and you can't get them out! The first thing to do is not panic! Don't call the locksmith and don't reach for the closest sledge hammer and commence smashing the door in. it really is easy to open the door when you know how.In most instances all you need is a thin screw driver, a nail or even an unfolded paper clip (however it does need to be a heavy duty paper clip). If you're lucky, you'll be able to lay your hands on the special tool that was supplied with the door handle set when the handle was installed. This is a tool that is designed to be used for just that occasion when you are locked out.

Earth-cooled, shipping container underground CA home for 30K
As a kid Steve Rees played in caves and learned how the earth could cool. As an adult, he buried two shipping containers and created an off-grid retirement home for himself and his wife Shirley.
After a few years of camping on their 10 acre plot in Northern California, they bought two shipping containers, hired an excavator and got to work. Doing most of the work themselves, their finished home cost them $30,000 (solar included). Their 640-square-foot space cost them less than $50 per square foot.
Rees explains that while this is less than conventional construction costs, the savings only begin with construction. With a solar-powered well, a bit of propane and solar tubes for most of their light, they haven’t had any city water or electric bills since 2002. Winter temperatures in their home (even during 20 degrees outside) never fall below 62 degrees (an RV catalytic heater is sufficient for heating). Even when the temperature rises to 110 outside in the summer, their home has never risen above 82 degrees.
When they asked the county about permitting they were told they “didn’t have a permit for burying containers”. They have been inspected since completing their home and they have a permitted septic system and a permitted well, just no permit for a single family dwelling.
