Margaret River is a pretty little town almost half way between Busselton and Augusta. The town has been over commercialised in the past few years and is a haven for yuppie types who have been mainly responsible for the huge increase in prices in the vineyards nearby. Commercial wine making came to the area in 1967 with the establishment of Vasse Felix, but it wasn't until the 1980s when wine became more acceptable in Australia, that the industry really saw a massive increase.

Exploring MARGARET RIVER - Family travel vlog
We had an amazing time exploring the Margaret River region in Australia's South West.
First off we left our hotel and headed down to Hamelin bay where we were greeted by dolphins and the local sting rays! Other highlights from the day include the amazing Injidup natural spa, Margaret River chocolate company, The fudge factory, Vasse Virgin and Canal rock bridge.
Next week - Busselton road trip day three! We head back home to Perth, looking for adventure on the way. I won't give it all away but make sure you subscribe because it should be a good one!

We visit Margaret River wine region where we taste some artisan chocolates, gourmet cheeses and of course the incredible wine of Vasse Felix. We also enjoy the beautiful sunsets and sunrises near Naturalist Bay, walk the famous Busselton jetty, where we spot some dolphins.
At last, we arrive to sunny Perth where we break free from the Fremantle Prison, and participate a global hackathon event organised by NASA.

Long Weekend in Margaret River Wine Region- September 2019
A video of our long weekend holiday with family friends. We stayed in a holiday home in Dunsborough. Places visited include: Margaret River Chocolate Factory, Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse in Augusta, Indijup Rocks, Pemberton, Wonky Windmill Animal Farm, Ngilgi Cave and Meelup Beach.

Margaret River is a small town south of Perth in western Australia, known for its craft breweries, boutiques and surrounding wineries. Beaches and surf breaks line the nearby coast, whose waters host migratory whales from June to November. Stretching between 2 lighthouses north and south of the town, the long-distance Cape to Cape Track fringes the limestone caves and sea cliffs of Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park.

Follow Colin on his final adventure across Australia. Even in his journey from Adelaide, SA to the wine region of Margaret River in WA he has to go all the way across the desert that holds the 'longest straight road in the world', camping by night, seeing wedge tailed eagles, dingos, lizards, roos and all of AUS wildlife. Finally before his arrival to Margaret River he does a rose wine tasting over one of the few PINK LAKES in the world.
The arrival to Margaret River has him meeting Josh Palmateer a local professional surfer who shows him the surf culture in this amazing beach town and then the two of them go see Matthew Byrne at Evans and Tate Winery to learn more about their local wines and trellis systems before ending this series caving on the Indian Ocean!
