Jenna & Valdomiro's' Emotional Buck Lake wedding film
Jenna & Valdomiro actually had two weddings, one in Brazil and one in Canada, only a few months apart. We were so happy to help them tell their story of a chance meeting in Lethbridge leading to a life together in Brazil. Jenna was drawn in by Valdomiro's beaming smile, and it's easy to see why. He's one of those people whose joy is contagious. A happier groom you will rarely see! Jenna's family cottage at Buck Lake was the perfect location for an intimate wedding in the forest. A tent was arranged for the reception, and after dinner the happy couple had the chance to show off their moves. Jenna and Val both love dancing, and it showed! #albertaweddingvideo #forestwedding

Electra Heart is the girl you run into in the supermarket wearing a faux fur coat and sunglasses, leisurely picking through the avocado. Her cart is filled with champagne and strawberries and she doesn’t even care that you’ve been staring at her from the bakery aisle. She’s angsty, and you can tell that her phone conversation didn’t end well by the way she dramatically dropped her phone and wiped a solitary tear from her cheek. The same cheek that has a eyeliner-drawn heart on it.
My new album Love + Fear is out April 26. Pre-order now:

LYRICS
I'm Electra, I'm Electra Heart
Only living, living in the dark
Lights they blind me
Can we go back, go back to the start?
Where the holy father made his mark
Lights they blind me
Can we go back?
Li-i-i...
Li-i-i...
Lights they blind me
For forgiveness you could always pray
That the sickness, it could go away
Lights they blind me
At the altar, would you pay the price?
Would you give your, would you give your life?
Lights they blind me
For forgiveness
Li-i-i...
Li-i-i...
Lights they blind me
Lights they blind me
Li-i-i...
Li-i-i...
Lights they blind me

BRAZIL: MACUMBA: FOCUS ON BRAZILIAN VERSION OF VOODOO
Portuguese/Nat
They may call themselves Catholics but thousands of Brazilians also practise Macumba - a home-grown version of voodoo.
With a population of more than 150 (m) million people Brazil is a multi-cultural melting pot. And religion - traditionally Roman Catholicism - plays an important social role.
But half the population is of black or mixed-race descent and a host of African gods compete side by side with Catholic saints in the hearts and minds of the faithful.
A muscular Jesus Christ stands next to a distinctly un-virginlike Mary.
Sensual representations of Catholic saints are a common sight in markets and homes throughout Brazil.
The Catholic church continues to exercise a strong influence over the lives of Brazilians.
But the continuing relevance of the church to the lives of ordinary people owes more than a little to the easy cross-pollination between Christianity and popular African beliefs.
The two main African religions practiced in Brazil are Umbanda and Candomble.
Many Christian saints have their Umbanda and Candomble counterparts.
SOUNDBITE: (in Portuguese)
There are two parallel systems in which it is believed that fundamental attitudes towards God are the same. But in everyday life, when people want to get rid of bad luck, they return to Umbanda. And that is where there is sometimes an identification between their idols and the Catholic saints. It is a parallelism.
SUPER CAPTION Father Jesus Hortal, Professor of Theology at Rio De Janeiro Catholic University
In this marketplace in Rio de Janeiro people flock to buy objects believed to be endowed with religious properties.
Gina de Yansa has been practicing Candomble for 23 years.
SOUNDBITE: (in Portuguese)
During the feast celebrations of Lemanja, Yansa, and Oshum, we always have baskets full of flowers, fruits, sweets, jewels, and maybe some expensive liquor like wine or champagne. In Umbanda, they offer perfumes, rice, bouquets of flowers, ribbons and other presents like brushes, combs and soap.

Stores like this sell dozens of live birds each day to worshipers seeking to secure special favours from the occult powers.

An Art Made of Trust, Vulnerability and Connection | Marina Abramović | TED Talks
Marina Abramović's art pushes the boundary between audience and artist in pursuit of heightened consciousness and personal change. In her groundbreaking 2010 work, The Artist Is Present, she simply sat in a chair facing her audience, for eight hours a day ... with powerfully moving results. Her boldest work may still be yet to come — it's taking the form of a sprawling art institute devoted to experimentation and simple acts done with mindful attention. Nothing happens if you always do things the same way, she says. My method is to do things I'm afraid of, the things I don't know, to go to territory that nobody's ever been.
TEDTalks is a daily video podcast of the best talks and performances from the TED Conference, where the world's leading thinkers and doers give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes (or less). Look for talks on Technology, Entertainment and Design -- plus science, business, global issues, the arts and much more.

SINOPSIS
On its 20th anniversary, Companhia Instável and Drumming GP, directed by Miquel Bernat, challenged the rewarded choreographer Roberto Olivan to create a bold performance for 6 interpreters: a show of percussion and contemporary dance interacting together, on stage, with musics of Michael Gordon.
ROBERTO OLIVAN'S WORDS:
TIMBER is a journey to the depths of our existence, a visit to each of the corners we have systematically stopped visiting because of fear, ignorance or abandonment of ourselves, thus disconnecting ourselves from what unites to our own unique and authentic nature.
TIMBER is a ritual call that demands an urgent response to the self-destruction we have slowly built over the years. The premises and values that we have considered valid indicators of progress are worth nothing. The rhythms that resonate in the woods repetitively creating a hypnotic trance symbolizes the desire to break through the barriers that limit the human being, diving into the freedom each one sees in his own way, waving his own flag.
TIMBER is a final attempt to recover our connection with a living world that has its own dynamics governed by light and darkness, day and night, by the time that has its own rhythm beyond our control. To accept or to die. To enter or to exit. To integrate or to divide.

You guys have been sending me all kinds of links to Megalodon pictures and videos… but so far nothing that would prove megalodons still exist today - but then this came in.

The video uses the title “Megalodon Caught on Camera” and it was sent in by a whole bunch of people starting with Nicole Stewart, Kirby Games, and creeperlicious123…
It shows what looks like a huge huge shark at the bottom of the ocean - but is this really a living Megalodon? Or is this maybe just a another mega-hoax? Why don’t we just dive in and see if we can get to the bottom of this…
MUSIC UP
Taking a closer look at the video, we see it claims this video was recorded in the Pacific ocean at a place called Mariana Trench.
SThe video shows us what looks like a camera feed from a remote underwater location. There is a strange structure on the ocean floor and a huge fish coming in from the right side of the camera.
Although we do get to see the fish for an extended period of time, we can’t really accurately measure it’s size. There is nothing in view that we could use to show us some scale.
I did a little looking around a bit, but couldn’t come up with much on my own, so I turned to Billschannel chief researcher Kyle Darkkova.
Kyle poured over dozens of webpages and followed this story back to it’s source, which brings me to this… the official answer.
But before I can tell you what the verdict is, I want to hear your answer first. So what I want you to do is… Yell out you answer either real or fake as loud as you can. Now if you’re the non verbal type or in class or the library, it’s ok to pause this video, go to the comments section, leave you answer there and then come back and watch the rest of the video…. ok… now no cheating… you ready and Go…
Ok, and now the official answer and here we go… The video showing a giant size fish at the bottom of the ocean has been examined and unanimously agreed to be a real video… but the fish shown in the video has been misidentified… it is not a megalodon and therefor the claim that is a living megalodon caught on camera is... fake.
Ok, I can understand that? But if it wasn’t a megalodon, what was it?
As it turns out, what we are looking is a piece of video shot by Japanese scientists sometime between 2000 and 2003.
According to multiple sources, it wasn’t shot in the Mariana Trench, but rather Suruga Bay which is not far away.
In this article from Russian publication Pravda, published in 2003, we get the real identity of the fish. it says, The researchers put a container with some smelly bait on the bay bottom. The smell of the bait attracted a shoal of deep-water sharks. But then the sharks scattered in all directions and researchers saw an incredibly huge monster on the screens of their monitors.
It turned to be a 7 meter or 23 foot long Pacific Sleeper shark. This is one of the largest species of sharks in the oceans but it is rarely seen because it spends its time in very deep waters.
Here’s another video of sleeper shark recorded at 9100 feet (or just under 2800 Meters). When you compare this to this, you see it is indeed a sleeper shark and not a Megalodon.
Ok, well that’s another Megalodon sighting down the drain. But don’t worry, this video has a happy ending because… I have a t-shirt to give away….
Ladies and genttlemen, this is an official Mothman t-shirt from the mothman museum in Point Pleasant, Va.
Now, unfortunately I only have one and it’s a large -- but hey, if you’re not a large you can always make a gift for someone else…
Now all you have to do is send an email to billschannel@gmail.com and say “mothman lives” anywhere in the email.. subject, body, I don’t care…
In a week or so we’ll pick a random winner and let you know if you are the lucky one!
Ok, that’s all the time I have this week… see you next time!
