Sleeping Giant Provincial Park (Top of the Giant Hike) // Road Trip 2019
What a great hike in Northern Ontario! Our first time in Thunder Bay, our first time Walmart camping, and our first time at Sleeping Giant National Park! We really enjoyed our 22 km hike, which took a full day. We took our time and try to really savor each fantastic views, overlooking Lake Superior. The weather was perfect and we felt like we were the only ones there. We definitely recommend Sleeping Giant National Park!
After our hike we made use of our day pass (which costs $15.50), so we filled up our 15L water jug and we took showers at Marie Louise Lake Campgrounds. Showering in warm water!! Wow!! We both felt incredible to be so clean, for the first time in a week!
Next stop, Winnipeg!
Thanks for watching!

Sleeping Giant - Thunder Bay Lookout
A quick walk-up to the Thunder Bay Lookout at Sleeping Giant Provincial Park near Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. Followed by a quick pan of the view and some info about the mountain.
......and some good-natured taunting.
BTW - It is called Sleeping Giant because it actually looks like a giant sleeping man, when viewed from Thunder Bay. Who'da thunk?!!

RACE OVERVIEW
Event date: August 24th, 2019.
Location: The Sleeping Giant Provincial Park, Thunder Bay Ontario, Canada.
Address: Approximately 75min from Thunder Bay (85km): From Thunder Bay head East on Hwy 17, turn right on Hwy 587 until you come to the Sleeping Giant Camp Ground. You’ve arrived!
The swim will be in the clean and clear spring fed Marie Louise Lake. From there you enter into the contrast between the beauty and the beast. Beauty belongs to the undulating, predominately single grassy mountain bike trail. Intended to be a fast ride, it will provide ample opportunity for passing. Beast, however, belongs to the more technical yet beautiful trail run. Running through forest canopies, over creeks and providing views of Lake Superior, one of the largest freshwater lakes in the world. This course has everything you would come to expect when racing an XTERRA event in Ontario’s remote wilderness.
