We were nervous about the process for our dog but it ended up being great.
On the way to Newfoundland we made use of the Kennel area and we visited our dog several times. On the way back it was very cold and the kennel was fully booked so we ended up leaving our dog in the car. There were rough seas on the way back so we are happy with our decision. She was in a familiar spot instead of being with other nervous puppies. It really just depends on the situation. In both cases we felt like we made the best decision under the circumstances.
Some of the headphone jacks are broken so I really do hope they address this in the future. If you can, cross during the day. We didn't book a cabin so the night time crossing was pretty painful.

Titanic sinking message shocking to those who got it
By early 1912, North Sydney had two Trans-Atlantic telegraph cable offices, the one that opened in 1875, and a smaller office that opened in 1910, to handle local telegraph traffic.
No one, however, was prepared for the message that was received late on the night of April 14-15, at the old office, which still stands across from the Irving Service Centre.
I am sure that the telegrapher who took down that message from the telegraph office at Heart’s Content, Newfoundland, would have found it hard to believe, and would have checked with the person who sent it, to confirm that it was actually true. It was.
At approximately 11:55 p.m. Newfoundland Time, a telegraph operator at the lighthouse at Cape Race, which is located on an isolated point of land south of St. John’s, received a shocking message from the RMS (Royal Mail Ship) Titanic. It simply stated: “We have struck iceberg, sinking fast, come to our assistance.”
Now this was not just any ship. With a length of 882 feet, and a displacement of more than 52,000 tons, it was the largest and most luxurious passenger liner in the world. It was also brand new, and making its maiden voyage across the Atlantic Ocean from England to the United States. (The Atlantic Vision, which is the largest of the four Newfoundland ferries, is 667 feet long, with a displacement of a little more than 30,000 tons.)
When the telegraph operator at Cape Race verified the distress message from the sinking Titanic, he sent it to the telegraph office at Heart’s Content, who then re-transmitted the message east to Ireland and England, by way of the underwater cable. At the same time, the message was sent west, across Newfoundland to Cape Ray, outside of Port aux Basques. It was then sent under the Cabot Strait to Lloyd’s Cove in Sydney Mines, and then on to the office in North Sydney.
Back then Newfoundland and Labrador were not part of Canada. They were a separate Dominion in the British Empire. The telegraph operators in North Sydney were thus the first people in either Canada or the United States to hear about the sinking Titanic. They immediately re-transmitted the shocking news to all parts of North America.
